Okay guys Im in the good position of being able to afford either a ns9000 or a ns8000 but not both. Ive had my ns8000 for over a year now and Ive found that I break my strings regularly (about once a month I use BG66 and play alot) and I play competition. So it sucks when I got to use a different racquet which has a vastly different feel from my ns8000 (its a fake carbonex 21 using the strings it came with) needless to say this season Im getting a SPARE!

Normally I would just buy another ns8000 but I am wondering if I should go one better and get a ns9000 or stick with consistancy of using two ns8000's should one break or something.

Ive tried the ns9000 type X and Im not sure if it was the different strings (they were Ashaway microlegends) or if it was just the fact I was using the most exspensive racquet on the market and it did something to my head but I liked what I saw it was pretty much the same as my 8000 except I thought there was more bite on my clears but that could be from the strings.

The store owner advised me to go for a type S since its more flexi and prolly better for intermediate players but I have yet to try that one.

So what would your advice be just get the best damn racquet out there or stick with consistancy since its not the racquet that makes the player anyway.

Considering you do play competition, you should stick with NS8K.

I have tried both, and I do think 9K does feel a little better in terms of power. NS8K however, is still a very good racquet. I'm considering purchasing more NS8Ks right now.

I prefer the NS9000-X but if you have a NS8000 and like it, just stick with it. Get another 8000. :)

Hm I play in competitions almost every week and I couldn't even think of playing with a different racket when the strings break. Having a different racket as spare racket is quite disasterous especially when the strings break during a match and you need a spare racket. There's no way you can adjust the touch during a match, it's even less likely if you're well used to playing with your NS800.

Besides, NS8000 is a great racket, and not that different from NS9000, so I'd say just grab another NS800.

I, for one, always buy two of the same racket model at the very least, usually 3 or more.

Agree. If you're a serious recreational player, I recommend 2 (or more) of the same racket with the same tension. If a tourney player, 3 or more.

is ns9000 more head heavy than ns8000? is the ns9000X stiffer than ns8000, and is ns9000S less stiff than ns8000? how does the elastic Ti technology in the ns9000 improve the racket? which racket is most suitable for singles play? thanks
