I'm happy with yonex, But I play a sotx-racket seriously: yy makes great shuttles, shoes, clothing, grips, strings, bags amd rackets. just soem people don't liek the type of rackets, or think their not very durable. but the fact that yonex probabaly owns 60% of the baddy-market..I'd say a lot of people are happy with yonex!
I have owned 5 yonex rackets and 3 broke for no apparent reason....never clashed rackets and never strung over 9.5...of all the rackets i have played with Yonex is the most fragile....They are also designed (at least the more expensive ones) more for the advanced players...I have hung up my MP66 in favor of Kawasaki Power 657 because it is considerably more headlite (but also uses yonex MP design) and has held up really well...Proace is maybe the most durable of all the rackets I have used but they are too stiff for me...Wish I could find a Proace headlite racket but have not found one yet....
Yeah, I'm satisfied with Yonex, it has a really wide range of products and the high-end ones, despite the high price, are all very high class equipment.
I quit using Yonex string a long time ago, except for BG-65 which I used for stringing the local high school raquets. Been using Gosen, Ashway and Forza string for about seven years now. Just as good ( if not better in the case of Gosen) and far cheaper.
Well, in North America, labor rate is way more expensive than string material itself. Therefore, I think the price difference between Yonex string and others are not significant.
The pricing is very significant. I'm talking about the actual price compared to its peers, not adjusted for labor, inflation, etc... For instance, BG85 is $8.00-$10.00/pack, PG65: $3.50-$5.00/pack. The best way to get Yonex strings is from a reliable gray market source. Then of course the pricing is competitive.
I like Yonex products and I think they are of great quality but very overpriced. That's the only complain I have. However, I guess the higher price didn't deter me from purchasing their products.
I see your point. However, the price difference is $3-5, when compare to labor charge in NA (usually $10-15 range at least), it's still a smaller factor (as $3 is only 15% of $20 = string + labor). Never to metion, if a player hardly snaps strings, it will be counted even less. Of course, the last assumption does not apply to master Dinker...
The biggest scam is markup. A local place was selling Gosen Bioroots for $17 a pack (re- stringing not included). When I went on line, I could get it for around $5!!!!!
Not true. I can get Yonex strings for $3.75-$5.50/set depending on the string. I can get Ashaway PG65 for $2.25/set.
Is this price to much? bg 60 with stringing done cost $20 and bg 80 with stringing done cost $22 is that expensive or cheap?
i love Yonex string. i use Carlton's racquet but i prefer yonex string. i use yonex bg66 and its quite cheap. try it.
