Thread: stress fractures

My ex girlfriend and still mixed doubles partner today was given a consultation on her acute pain in her legs, she was right medial and tibia stress fractures and muscle syndrome.
She could be put for 6-20 weeks which is a long time to train or play. Specialy when we have a tournament in six weeks.
She has to have a bone scan and that will determine the extent of the injury and grade and how long she is out for.
anyone else had the same injury?

Dear me...I thought I was the only one suffering from this~! I banged my shins on a bench accidentally last August and a few times after and now I am still fretting on the pain~! I suspect its a stress fracture or a bone bruise. There's a lump on both shins and its difficult to play baddy, movements became slow and jumping is a no no (I realised after doing double skips). I am yet to see a doctor as I take pain killers or play a slower game (NHS doesn't help!). The pain encourages reluctance to move in court and its quite discouraging spiritually. I have been resting for 2-3 weeks now, the swell's gone down and I have no problem walking around which used to be quite a chore. I will be seeing a doctor when I return to Malaysia this June. Weaklings!!!! Well not really. More like victim of circumstances. Just becareful and not run while attempting to cross the road and trip like Maz did which caused her injury... me thinks or is it a different one
ZOMG alvinlai? What are you doing? You want to be a druggie? Man, that's not cool, why not actually see a doctor now before you screw it up unintentionally or intentionally.

Hahaha, nice one there Fend. I don't usually take pain killers except when I'm playing an important competition or some sort. Make that less than 10 in a year~! The NHS here really screw up big time. I rather rest now and visit a doctor back home. Its out of season now and I'm only playing socially, basic upper body movements and no intense lower body action. I drink lotsa milk now and that seems to help too~ and cut down on soft drinks~!
