I like CHENG Shao-Chieh and PAI Min Jie of Chinese Taipei. Especially Cheng, she's really fast and smart on court.
Also, I like Sho SASAKI of Japan. His style's more than 90% alike Lin Dan. a pretty aggressive player. Meanwhile, i like KUAN Beng Hong of Malaysia. With time and training, he could definately play as good as Lee Chong Wei! From my eyes. he's better than Hafiz.

I don't think Joachim is any good actually, he just smashes all the time and gets exhausted very easily.

Anyway, not acutally new, but a new star anyway, Chen Jin has really shown some potential along with rapid development. As for Sho Sasaki, I completely agree with you, this man jumps as high as Bao Chunlai. He's fast and agile and doesn't run out of breath.

Just the opposite, Sho Sasaki run out of the battery in the second set cos he jump-smashed too much.

I like the way Joachim receives serves, just like playing doubles. Really fast.

    how about Jiang YanJiao? ;)

her style is a nice departure from the tall/fast/offensive Chinese game. her style may mark a more diverse style for future Chinese ladies. Jiang being the most "soft" style, then Wang Lin, and then Wang Yihan being the closest to the like of XXF/ZN.

Sahnia Nehwal - The most interesting young talent from an upcoming badminton nation. I think she's only 16 but has beaten many top 20 players.

Lee Yong Dae - Don't forget he is only 19. A lot has been said about Tan Boon Heong being world junior champion but I think Lee has blossomed faster.

Ha Jung Eun - 18 year old doubles wonder from Korea - equally good in singles, women or mixed doubles. Undefeated in the recent Uber Cup.

Wang Lin - Only 17, but already a 6 star event winner.

i think that Gong Weijie might end up being the next top chinese player as i reckon that he is currently being trained up pretty intensively seeing as we have not seen much of him in recent times, after a beating Peter Gade. he is still only a junior as well so he has a promising future ahead of him

Joachim can be a really good player, he reached the semi-final of the european championship losing only to peter gade. He beat Kuan ben Hong because he can be a great player =)

I am not so sure about that though at this point in time. A champion needs lots of mental strength and KBH is grossly very lacking in this area. It will very difficult for him to acquire that if ever. He will need to put lots and lots of emphasis on mental training from now on in order to cross that line.

One example is to look at golf. Phil Mickelson was world no 2 and big tournament bridemaid for infinity (labelled as the best player never to win a grand slam for years) before finally winning a grand slam only in recent years.
