    Howdy!

You on the other hand need ephedrine-free fat burning pills to complement your workout!

I guess it depends on a few things:
    1. Your bone/body structure. Some of us have big bones (heavier) and some small (lighter).
    2. Maybe more intake of protein is needed but you have to workout. This is the only way, in my opinion, that you can increase your width. Grow your muscle.
    3. Vitamins

Don't go for the Mc Donald diet. You will prob put on weight but on the tummy side and it will make you look bigger in size but it will be flabby.

But regardless how our body look like, 1 thing important is to keep it healthy and fit. Good luck.

mrgrape, you ask how to gain weight in a good way as if doing weights training to gain weight is bad for you. It isn't. Infact, it is the healthiest way of gaining weight. I dont think any guys would want to put on weight on the chest simply by eating. It would look saggy and uncool

One particular type of exercise you can do to increase the width of your torso is heavy 1 arm exercises, like suitcase deadlift, side press, 1 arm snatch, 1 arm clean & jerk, 1 arm farmer/waiter walks, Turkish get ups etc.

These exercises really work your obliques as stabilizers, particularly under heavy loads. Helps give you a "stockier" build.

Well when someone has a big upper body, then it's more weight that the legs to support and that might cause some problems (ie your speed might decrease when you run because you are wasting energy trying to carrying all those weight ) ... I guess it would be all right if you are well proportioned in the leg, but honestly, I don't see the point in purposely trying to gain weight.Working out and doing weight trainining is good, but only if it's for the right reasons.

... I just find this a little ironic since we live in a world where it seems like almost everyone is trying to lose weight...

but you rarely see any athletes doing it ...

IMO, anything that can decrease your performance ... well you can't help but wonder if it's worth it ... or not.

Aesthetics, my friend... aesthetics. They won't have any performance bonus during sports activities, but it's certainly another matter for the folks looking at them.

On a more serious note, stronger upper body, especially in the abs is essential for balance and power.
