After spending many years at Westminster Hall, the council has seen fit to knock it down, so Hampstead Badminton Club will be moving.

We've now found a state of the art six court venue in the Willesden area of North West London. Nearest Tube/Overground is Willesden Junction (Bakerloo line) and you're within a 10 minute walk. Willesden Green (Jubilee line) is about 20mins walk or 10 mins away on the bus with a short walk for a bit of variation!

We are looking for new players from the 28th May to come along either for a trial period of two sessions or to join us. We will be playing between 10am and 1pm on a Sunday.

We are estimating that there will be a big take up, so there will be a selection process once we get to a certain limit of new players.

To remind those who are not familiar with Hampstead Badminton Club. We are a friendly club with a weekly turn out of between 20 - 24 players.

We have a broad range of players from beginners to advanced players.

We are constantly looking for stronger players to enjoy some more challenging games.

If anyone is interested, please contact me on sslam72@hotmail.com or reply here for further details.

    Regards,
    Siu

    Hmmmm, no responses.

Is anyone out there who's close to Willesden?

Perhaps those who are currently playing in West London, Wembley, Hendon, Finchley, or slightly west of central London may be interested.

We are really looking for players of a good standard who have perhaps played at a competitive level in 1st or 2nd division local leagues or division 3 or higher in Middlesex county leagues.

I may even have played against you at some point!

    Now Open!

Just to remind everyone that this club is starting this Sunday at 10 am.

If you'd like to try us out and are of a reasonable club standard, please feel free to drop by.

Hi there, was wondering if you could give me some more information regarding the club. I'm on the lookout for a new club after arriving in London a few months back and still haven't found anywhere to suit. Not sure what standard I would play as I used to play in Ireland, I could manage division 3 out of 6 over there so not sure what that the equivalent would be here.

    What nights do you play?
    Plastic or feathered shuttles?
    Costs?

Anyways, if you could email me the details at dcuk82@yahoo.co.uk it would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Doug

    Hi Doug

Not sure if anyone responded to you:

We play on Sunday mornings, from 10 am to 1 pm (although actually, we play until 2/3-ish).

We have 6 courts on a sprung floor in a new sports hall with high ceilings. At the moment, the club is very quiet, so no waiting at all, you can play the whole 4/5 hours. We have a wide variety of players, from intermediates to league players.

The cost is £6 per session, we use the top grade Gosen feathers.

Just PM me or Siu if interested.

    David

    Hi

No, you're welcome to come along.

But you should contact someone first, because there are Sundays when the club is not run or will be run at another venue as the school has exams and things sometimes.

There are plenty of free courts at the moment as everyone is still away for their holidays, it seems.

Could I come along this Sunday too, I have just moved to the area and the location seems to be about a 20min cycle ride away. Will there be anything organised this coming Sunday the 3rd Sept. ?

    No Badminton Next Two Sundays

Sorry, but due to the school hall being used for other activities, there will be no badminton at the club this Sunday and next, 22nd and 29th October.

    Cheers, David

Yes, we are still playing there.

I don't frequent these forums much these days, but if you need more info, please contact myself or David14700.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Hello Dreamzz,

I sent it to Siu e-mail 2 weeks ago and Siu did not reply yet. I would like to start to play as soon as possible. Can you advise me what to do?

    Thanks for your help.

Just to let everyone know that I'm no longer involved with this club.

I've been away from badminton for a long time due to illness and family commitments and I've only just started playing competitively for my league club towards the end of this season.

I've had quite a few messages asking about the Willesden club and I'm afraid I can't help with your enquiries.

My club Hadley BC, are looking for experienced male and female players who have played Middlsex/Herts league 1/2 level and who may be looking for a club in the North London area of Enfield/Barnet/Southgate.

We're coming to the end of the Winter season and Summer season starts in a few weeks. We'll be looking to strengthen our mens/ladies/mixed teams for the forthcoming winter match season.

    Sincerest Apologies,
    Siu
