Winner of JOpen in 1881 was Rudy Hartono beating Luis Ponggoh
( The fat guy on coaching bench in Thomas Cup), this is from ITNarchives site.

Maybe you misunderstood me. The document I found had only Korean results and it only had the 1980 Japan Open results because Hwang won. Apart from that and the All England, I can find no other 1981 results...

Again, that hit is from a blind Google search. I have no idea where the historical list might be. The Korean Open website might have a complete list of champions but I'm not sure.

Ahem,
Very interesting, some of the DVDs look very familiar.
Looks as though someone has cut up a Cadillac or Mercedes meant for rich Americans and Europeans and cut them up to little Becas to sell them to the poor starving Indos.
Maybe Modius can Email the webmaster and suggest thet he share all the files on the internet but first we must get all inas to hook up to Broadband.

She is a legend
A great player with an iron resolve. A lay man like me could not possibly fathom how she could possibly endure all the hardship in training (with so little facility available during her time) while still being able to play top quality badminton.
Not only that, she was able to push herself to her limit and played matches with an bad ankle
. Amazing, just simply amazing! It's a shame that she had to retire early due to her injury. Other than that, her story and achievements are nothing short of a legend. Nothing but respect to this amazing lady. Salute!
