Hello everyone, I am travelling to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks and I wondered if people could suggest some of the better shops to visit for badminton supplies, i would like to pick up some spare rackets and some new clothing whilst i am out there (mainly yonex suff ) But i am concered about getting sold fakes. With this in mind could anyone please offer some good places to shop? Ive asked around my friends from that area but no-one really said a place as they arent badminton fans like me lol. Thanks in advance.
Badminton Shops around Hong Kong 1) Luxis Sports 1st floor, 41 Parkes Street, Jordan, Hong Kong. To get there, go to "Jordan" MTR station. Walk out of exit "C2" and you will be immediately on a cross roads junction. Walk straight ahead(Bowring St) to the next junction which is the Bowring St and Parkes St junction. Look to the 2 o'clock position and you can see the blue sign. Steps lead up to the 1st floor (2nd floor if u come from North America) 2) Rose Sports Goods & Sports Clothing Co ¡V 39 Fa Yuen Street, Mongkok Kam Wong Bldg, near the cross of Shantung Street and Fa Yuen Street, (27811809 / 27811601) 3) Emmy Ground floor, 97 Fa Yuen Street, Mong Kok Small store so be careful not to walk past and not notice it! 4) Racketshop 1st floor 102A Fa Yuen St, Mong Kok (very small entrance to go up 1 flight of stairs) [To get to Fa Yuen Street, take the subway to Mong Kok station. Goto exit E which is the 'Bank Centre' exit. Come out of the exit and walk straight ahead. Cross two streets (and past 'Mong Kok Computer centre) and the 3rd street is Fa Yuen Street. Turn right for Rose, left for Emmy and Racketshop( a bit further than Emmy). Browse amongst all the other sports shops on Fa Yuen street as well] 5) Master Keen Sports Goods shop no. 101B, 1/F, Port Centre , 38, Cheng Tu Road, Aberdeen , Hong Kong Tel: 28730318 To get there, the best way is to take the 970 bus which runs along Nathan road between Prince Edward and Jordan in Kowloon. You should take the 970 with the destination 'Aberdeen'. Go to the very end of the bus route (crossing over to HK island) and the 'Mr Keen' shop should be a short walk away. The journey will take about 45-60 minutes (non-rush hour). Aberdeen area is not accessible by the subway system. 6) Inskysports Address: RM 306, Ho King Commercial Centre, 2-16 Fa Yuen Street Mongkok, Kowloon. Their warehouse is in RM 1104. Tel: 97879118 I think i got this from older post a while ago and saved it onto MSWORD. Try searching for the orig post. Here you go anyway
My relatives are in HK right now, so i want them to get me a new racquet. Since i have the Telephone that can talk free from and to HK, i thought i would just call and ask for the prices instead of having them run everywhere. Is it possible to get Phone numbers to all of those shops? Only a few are posted, Thx! I just called Rose, and they're not allow to tell me the price over the phone.... is it cause they're afriad of Competitors or something??
Im currently in Hong Kong andve looked around most of these shops, and would have to say that Racketshop on 102 F.Yuen Gaai, is probably the better of the other shops. The one in Jordan is not too bad, but they werent so open to bargaining for a lower price. Overall id say try the racketshop at 102 first. If not the one at 97 isnt too bad, although little small. Also to note is that the one at 97 only takes CASH !!! so make sure you have enough to get what you want!
hey guys, I'm going to HK also maybe around next month and I would just want to know if any of the above shops sell stringing machines? if so, which brands do they carry? thanks in advance!!!

cocoman123 : I tried to email to Emmy but it looks the email address is invalid as I got the mail failure notice. Could you verify the email address? Thank you
Racketshop 1st floor 102A Fa Yuen St, Mong Kok Was probably the better of all the shops that i went to, although the one at 97 Fa Yeun St also had a good selection of rackets. The racketshop at 102A also threw in FREE BG85's on both the rackets i brought along with FREE over grips for them, which made the deal more sweet. They did a good stringing job too. That would be me shop of recommendation.
Matt, I got that info from your business card. Perhaps this "www.emmyclub.com". I would also send here SMS to cell No. (852)810006350. LOL
ROFL! Looks like I'll get to get my relatives in HK to contact them for that one. Yup, email defniately invalid. SMS - no way my plan doesn't include it.
You can contact Luxis -- I think they can assiste you to buy special and cheaper rackets. Phone contact (852) 31755143.
Oh Tessa, Thanks for the information. Actually I have been in contact with Luxis last week up to now via email. They respond in a timely manner. I tried InSky and Puppy Sports, so far it's unacceptable because they did not reply to my email and it's been a few days now. I know they have read it.
Is it me or does the prices on luxis sport seem rather high? Does anyone have prices for Yonex racquets for Racket Shop? My gf will be going this month to HK.
