In the middle of competition of the 2006 Djarum Indonesian Open, Taufik Hidayat's concentration level was bothered with the resignation plan of his coach, Mulyo Handoyo. The 2005 World Champion performance on the 1st day reflected the big issue over Mulyo's plan to leave.

Taufik regretted PBSI's lackadaisical and care-less attitude with Mulyo's plan. "All the hard work of my coach is unappreciated", said Taufik after defeating Agus Hariyanto (Hongkong) 21-18, 23-21 yesterday at Kertajaya Sporth Hall in Surabaya.

Taufik admitted that he will reconsider his position as an athlete in Pelatnas PBSI if Mulyo indeed will leave from that organization. But Taufik wasn't interested in going overseas with a difficult resason of living his wife and family. "If he(Mulyo) leave tomorrow on June 5th, i will reconsider if i will stay @ PBSI or not", said Taufik.

In 2002, Taufik actually left Pelatnas and played in S'pore after Mulyo's contract wasn't extended by PBSI and the coach moved to the island country.
