What is the exact length of 200m badminton string packs from Yonex, Gosen, and Ashway? The single 10m seems to be longer than 10m.

I believe the actual length is 220 meters. This is allowing the stringer to get the extra length needed for reaching the tensioner. If you are a good stringer you can actually have enough string to do one extra racket than advertised. So 21 rackets instead of 20 if you can estimate string length accurately.

You sure about this? With 220m, even conservatively, you'd get at least 22 sets (at 10m each). I'm doubtful that string manufacturers are quite that generous.

    Perhaps you meant 202m, instead?

quasi, you're doubting the wrong guy.
21 to 22.5 rackets, why so picky when you're not too sure yourself?

    not with those figures, surely?
220m and he says 21 instead of 20?

I had a reel of BG80 where I used 658 feet (almost 660 so almost 200m) and there was not enough left even to do some crosses. So less than 5m left.
So the original reel was < 205m

personally, i had squeezed 22 racket jobs out of a reel of bg70.
i didnt measure or keep track of string length used in each string job.
on single packet, i do noticed that more spare were given in bg65 than bg85. So, it could be dependent on type of string

We cannot know the exact length of each 200m reel because each reel is going to be off by a bit.

We'll just have to take the manufacturers' words that they are around 200meters. :p

I have not used a 200m bulk reel yet and would like to know its exact length to estimate how many stringing jobs I can squeeze out of one reel. For iso racquets I normally use 8.4m. Using a single 10m string leaves quite a lot of unused string. For 200m I probably can squeeze out 23 string jobs, but I am hoping for more if the 200m reel exceeds 205m.

I'm sorry. I was under a mistaken impression that this is a discussion forum.

    well 8.4 * 24 is only 201.6
I doubt if any 200m reels will be 210m to let you get 25

You can try 2 pcs of string, one 45.8 cm for the mains and the other 38.0 cm for the crosses, to string a racquet with 22 strings on both mains and crosses on an iso racquet. The mains in particular will require some degree of precision when stringing from the middle, to avoid being short of string on either one side or even both sides. With practice using these two lengths-with an oval racquet you can use even shorter lengths-you can save a bundle with 200m reel strings.

Normally the roll (Winex don't marks theirs) should give you 20 racquets but you probably can squeeze 22 racquets if you are really careful but the average is 21 racquets. Given that a 10m pack is actually longer, it wouldn't surprise me if the actual length is about 10% more than what's listed.

As for Quasimodo doubting Eggroll, I would suggest that a lot of folks here don't know that Eggroll works for Yonex Canada.

It makes sense, even for bulk 200m reels, especially for stringers who use drop-weight and crank machines. I am very economical with strings because I use a starting clamp to "cheat" (a more accurate word is save, but it lacks the 'punch') on strings.
Tip of the day : use a starting clamp as a "jumper" or extension string if you are using 200m or even 100m reels.

sorry, don't know what popped when I wrote that.

also, if one string them all at 30+ lbs, u can get even more 'extra' string out of that reel

I really doubt you will get one more extra string job, even on a 200m reel/roll, with 30lbs+. You can probably squeeze one more from stringing all oval racquets plus the use of only 21 cross strings.

Yes, I missed one decimal point. Safer to say 4.58m and 3.8m.
