thanks for the offer mates! I really do feel welcomed even i haven't depart to Oz. Seriously looking forward to play with you all.
Ashley : I will be staying @ hawthorn & potentially i may have a car to travel if the timing is right. May i know how far is the distance? if the venue in Glen waverley then probably i know where is it. i used to went there once for dinner in one of the korean restaurant but heard that it was closing down recently.
Vienb : I may not be as good as you think. I am just an ordinary badminton player which knows some basic skills & able to return some shots.
Thanks Dolphin, really hope i can depart as soon as possible. Coz my gf is keep nagging me day & night to join her in Melbourne. Now my concern is whether i can manage to secure a job as soon as i reach Melb if not, i may not have sufficient pocket money for my badminton game

I have to agree with what Dolphin said. If you are of MAS State level or above, you can easily find any places/social group to play with. Everyone will welcome you and want a piece of you, mateee.
Question is whether you will enjoy playing with the group or not.
Now that I know your level of play, next time you drop in Titans, I am going to get you to tie a chair behind your back when playing against me. This is the OZ handicap system. ahahahaa...

See you in Melbourne.

yep, it might take some adjusting and it'd be nice to help someone who's going through the same things. with all the friendly forumers out here, badminton should be one of the least of your problems.
direction finding in melbourne is generally easy. i've found www.whereis.com.au to be very useful. although public transport is reasonably good, getting to use a car is a MUST so try to get your vehicle and license issues sorted out as soon as you make the move.
getting a job is another matter altogether. unless you have an in-demand skill that is not easily available here, it would take quite a while or a lot of luck to secure a full time job. if you would like to know more about my own experience feel free to PM me, but what i can share on this forum is this - even while you're jobless, do continue the badminton (beg, borrow or steal if there is no money) ... it could be crucial to maintain sanity

You're the first person ever to say i made them feel welcome
.. i guess my bias against foreigners (especially against POM) and interstate people doesnt show
Great that you're just "an ordinary badminton player" .. this means that we'll be a legitimate C grade double .. and no complaints from other players to the organisers/officials
