He has offered our members 10% discount on all his products. Just mention you are from Titans Badminton Club.

He also does restringing and has given us a special price of $16 including Yonex BG65 strings.
In addition if you do 6 restrings he will do the 7th one for free.

His Yonex strings are from Australia and not from China, Taiwan or Vietnam.
He has been stringing rackets in Malaysia and Australia for over 9 years and currently stringing for some national players as well.

These are the opening hours :
Monday: 10am-6pm
Tuesday: 10am-5pm
Wednesdy: 10am-6pm
Thursday: 10am-9pm
Friday: 10am-9pm
Saturday: 10am-6pm

The club now has a RADAR GUN to measure the speed of our player's smashes.

If you would like to try it out just send me an email prior to the Wednesday or Saturday social and I will make sure I will bring it along.

On Saturday the 8/9/12 there will be NO social badminton.

Many of our regular players will be at the Monash Open and I will be away at a family function.

We are planning to hold our next Intraclub competition on Saturday the 22/9/12.

Total number of participants will be set at 20.

Costs are $10 for guys and $8 for gals. There's no membership fees and no booking is required. We have four courts and the standard of our players are intermediate and above. Which radar gun are you guys using and what is your experience with that unit? I'm looking to buy one for my club too, and there are so many different brands/models available. Little confused...

Sorry for the late reply, we don't use Badminton Central much these days. We moved most of our discussion to our Facebook page after some of our more vocal players got banned for their colourful vocabulary.

We got the Bushnell Speedsheter III Speed Radar Gun with the LED display and tripod kit. We were hoping to get close to Tan Boon Heong's 421km/hr or at least Fu Hai Feng's ingame 332km/hr. But sadly after many tries and sore arms the best we could achieve was around 160km/hr. Remember that our club does not have beginners and all players are Open to C grade players.

The fastest point is when the shuttle leaves the strings of the racket head but I think the radar gun has trouble picking up the shuttle at that point. I have tried the radar gun with cars and tennis balls and the results and very accurate but the physical nature of the shuttle slowing down so fast makes in hard the radar gun we have to accurately measure the speed of the shuttle. Either that or we are really smashing at those speeds. If only Tan Boon Heong was around I could calibrate my radar gun.

We are no longer running social badminton on Wednesday nights.

The only session we are currently running is :

Saturday nights 7.30-10.00pm.
Cost is $10 for guys and $8 for girls.
Player Requirement : must be C grade and above.
