    Predicted winners in bold
    MS
    Gade v Bao
    KJ v Chen Hong
The form of the Chinese do not seem good.

    WS
    Pi v Nedeltcheva
    Mia v Lu Lan
Mia can be inconsistent. If so, Lu will pounce.

    MD
    Flandy/Sigit v Blair/Clark
    Laybourn/Paaske v Steffensen/Rasmussen
English a bit lucky to be at this stage. The Rasmussen pair looks a bit more steady.

    WD
    Wei/Zhang Yawen v Zhao/Zhang Dan
    Yang/Zhang v Cheng/Chien

    XD
    Robertson/Emms v He Hanbin/Zhang Dan
    Widianto/Natsir v Rizal/Polii
Two cases of David vs Goliath.

SO 2006 had lots of retired and injured players. Anyway after QF results:

As usual China still dominated with 7 spot occupied from 20 SF spot.

Denmark also doing nicely specially the men. 4 spots.

Indonesia suprisingly did quite good by 3 spots in SF. After a bad lost from Luluk/Alven and Markis/Hendra.

England had 2 spot. est of the countries had one.

Malaysia didn't do quite good by not having one spot in SFIndonesia Open and SO here.

How come lots of Malaysia fans dissed Hafiz? Come on he lost to Chen Hong who although not as good as 2 years ago but still a very dangerous and good player. So hafiz lost to a good opponent. You can dissed him if he lost to Vietnam players or Germany players. But lost to Top China players?

My predict are as follow. Quite agree with hcyong except Man single.

    MS
    Gade v Bao
    KJ v Chen Hong
The way Chen Hong dispatch Hafiz today was somewhat top form. So bet on Chen Hong rather than Kenneth

    WS
    Pi v Nedeltcheva
    Mia v Lu Lan

    MD
    Flandy/Sigit v Blair/Clark
    Laybourn/Paaske v Steffensen/Rasmussen

    WD
    Wei/Zhang Yawen v Zhao/Zhang Dan
    Yang/Zhang v Cheng/Chien

    XD
    Robertson/Emms v He Hanbin/Zhang Dan
    Widianto/Natsir v Rizal/Polii

Well, we malaysian fans have never tried to diss hafiz... I was actually surprised that he got into quarter final n misbun was satisfied with him..

But u know disppointment do apply in all of us when he actually won the first set but went down tamely in the sencond n third set... Mayb some ppl just thought he could do better n had been very inconsistent in his playing...

    My predictions

The Semi-Finals will start at 2:00pm tomorrow and will probably be finished by 5:30pm. A good thing as I can then go for a movie at night..hehe :D

    MEN'S SINGLES
Peter Gade vs Bao Chunlai (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- Peter was only troubled by Chen Yu so far. I hope he can win tomorrow.

Chen Hong vs Kenneth Jonassen -- Kenneth strolled to the semi-finals. On the other hand, Chen Hong negotiated a difficult match earlier. Chen Hong to win.

    MEN'S DOUBLES
Anthony Clark/Robert Blair vs Flandy Limpele/Sigit Budiarto (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- I have underestimated the senior Indonesian pair. If they again play their best form, they will win tomorrow...and even win the tournament.

Jonas Rasmussen/Peter Steffensen vs Thomas Laybourn/Lars Paaske -- a meeting between 2 former partners. JR and his new partner seem to be better.

    WOMEN'S SINGLES
Mia Audina vs Lu Lan (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- I have to say that I do not want Lu Lan to win. Mia was impressive in her victory over Chen Li today..and I hope she continues her good form.

Petya Nedeltcheva vs Pi Hongyan -- Pi to win.

    WOMEN'S DOUBLES
    Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen
vs Chien Yu-Chin/Cheng Wen-Hsing (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- I hope the Chinese Taipei pair can put up a good fight.

Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen vs Zhang Dan/Zhao Tingting -- boring..boring...does it really matter who win?

    MIXED DOUBLES
Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms vs He Hanbin/Zhang Dan (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- despite the fact that the Chinese pair has beaten 2 seeds, Robertson/Emms should be too strong for them.

Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir vs Mohd Rizal/Greysia Polii -- experience vs youth. Rizal/Greysia have really done well since being re-paired up less than 3 weeks ago. They show the potential of becoming Team Indonesia's no 2 XD pair now (with the Asian Games looming in mind). Richard Mainaky again made a good decision by re-pairing these 2 players (who were formerly runners-up in the World Junior Championships 2 years ago; incidentally, their opponent was He Hanbin/Yu Yang). Nova/Butet should prevail and meet Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms. They have lost their last 2 matches to the English pair. Time for a revenge?

Personally I find all the men singles semi-finalists have an equal chance of making it to the finals. All of them seem to be on form. Good luck to the players!

Peter Gade all the way. He is in good form and he seems to be the most all-rounded player in this tournament. And now that Ronald Susilo is out, the stadium has been transformed in Peter's home ground. This is from the kind of reception he receives... almost like he is Singaporean! Not difficult to understand why at all looking at the reaction from the female groupies from China.

I believe the MS final will be between Peter Gade and Chen Hong.

Laybourn/Paaske v Flandy/Sigit in final and Sigit with his 1st title with new partner. Unless Flandy makes 1 too many mistakes again like in IO then its the other way around.

I think the men's singles semi finalists all have approximately equal chance to go to the finals... I also agree with yannie.. I think it's gonna be Gade vs Chen Hong
