Well, this trip, I tried to hunt for autographs whenever I can (while concentrating on the matches). Here are the ones I manage to get:

    Shoji Sato
    Kaori Mori
    Kanako Yonekura

    Andrew Smith

    Chan Choong Ming
    Koo Kian Keat
    Lee Wan Wah

    Ronald Susilo

    Chen Hong
    Lu Lan
    Zhu Lin
    Zhang Jie Wen

    Mia Audina

    Pi Hong Yan

    Peter Gade
    Kenneth Jonasson

    Liliyana Natsir
    Nova

Overall, the japanese autographs looks the best. Of the chinese players, Lu Lan's looks the most cool. Chen Hong's can't even make out what he wrote.

Getting the japanese players' autograph is the most hilarious as they have no idea what I am saying and when I approached them, they seem shocked and blur. Luckily, Kanako seems to know some english as she pointed to the particular page I wanted and said "here?". Of course, my favourite is Kanako. :p But Shoji's autograph is the best looking.

    Misses:
    Eriksen/Lunsgaard
Bao Chun Lai (not my priority anyway)
    Eriko Hirose

Hello, just curious, when you let them sign for autograph, you just use paper/notebook? Or must have a poster with their face? or you let them sign on your shirt? :D

Need some advice, it might sounds senseless but this is my first time going to tournament like this. Can I ask the players to sign their autograph on my notebook? Anyone who has experience with autograph hunting, please kindly let me know. Thanks. :)

I got this Moleskine notebook (its those traditional small notebook without lines and uses a leather-wrapped cover with a elastic band used by those old poets and artists long ago) and shove it to them with a Mont Blanc. Got to make it attractive for them to sign right? haha :D

I'll try to get them scanned when I visit some friends who has a scanner. The japanese players' autograph are usually slightly more elaborate.

They are willing to sign anywhere (but know your limits). A few things I learnt:

    1) Try not to do it when they are in a bad mood like right after losing a tough thriller or something.

    2) Make it simple. Give them the book and pen in ready condition. Cause right after a match when they were walking past the front row, they can get a little disoriented (Pi Hong Yan had a hard time unscrewing my pen as she was panting and stuff... Wait, I know it doesn't sound right...).

    3) Best is approach them when they are in the stands relaxed.

One of my purpose in autographs is a form of encouragement to the players. Apart from some weirdo player that do not like to give autographs, I believe most players feel appreciated and encouraged if fans bother to approach them for autographs/pictures. Its some form of verification of their hardwork and achievement.

You're kind of right. He doesn't have any kind of facial expression at all when signing the autograph. Not even when I smiled at him.

Even though he didn't show any expression doesn't mean he is not friendly. I wouldn't consider him friendly or not based on one incident. Anyway, if he is not friendly, he would not have signed in the first place.

Of course im not saying that he is unfriendly..

He's a joker n simply amusing when he's in mood

But he becomes cloudy n emotionless after losing a match... He simply needed at least a week to regain his usual self when Malaysia failed to reclaim Thomas Cup...
