I'll be in Tampa for 6 weeks this summer. Are there any local places to play other than USF? Anywhere in the metro area would be fine.

    Hi,
Check out where to play at southern badminton assoc. They are all within an hour's drive from Tampa downtown.

Check out Holiday, Largo and St. Petersburg, Sarasoto

We lost Mr. Obara to an accident this year. Please try to call Holiday center directly instead of the number.

I usually play at USF ( http://web.usf.edu/~usfbad/) and have played at all places other than Sarasota.

If you live in the west part of Tampa, you can get to Cypress Forest Recreation Center, located at 650 Pine Avenue North, Oldsmar FL in less than 30 mins. The gym is open to Badminton Thursday 7PM to 9PM and Saturday 10:30AM to 1PM. There are two courts. The cost is $1.50/ per session to non-members. Feather shuttles are used and we were able to get the city to buy heavy duty poles and nets recently.
