    Hi Guys,

This is just a little thing me and the guys that I play badminton with have, and I just thought you might find it interesting, hell maybe even funny! :)

I'm sure we all have our badminton idols, Lin Dan, Peter Gade, whoever it may be. Well we have taken the concept of a badminton professional of whom we like, and used a part of the name as a derivative and added it to a part of our name to invent a nickname. If that sounds a little confusing, sorry! it was the best I could explain it, however a few examples should clear things up.

    1) My name is Jay, and a pro that I particularly like is Lee Chong Wei, so I am known as Lee Chong Jay :D

    2) My freind's name is Will, and he likes Lee Hyun-Il, so he is Lee Hyun-Will.

    3) Another of my friends is called Minh...(You'll like this one!) and he idolises Lin Dan, so he is known as Minh Dan! :p

I'm sure you all get the picture!

Have a go, I'd love to hear some of the crazy ones you guys could come up with.

P.S. I wonder if you could help us with a few nicknames for the people who we couldn't think of a matching pro's name for.

    1) Rob Sowden

    2) David (or Dave) Diep (pronounced De-ep)

    3) Jamie Ho

    4) Michael (or Mike) Diep

When thinking up nicknames, you can use first or surnames from the Pro's or the people mentioned above, as long as they fit well like my examples, try to use the well known professional's names. :)

Hope you guys enjoyed reading! I'm looking foreward to see what you can come up with!

    Jay

    Hey, is this for real?

I feel like I'm on some kind of prank show like Ali G where I'm being prodded to make ridiculous statements while some unknown audience secretly laughs at me behind my back.

Sorry no contribution for right now but this nickname thing got me thinking, I teamed-up and played with a person named, "Linh", pronounced "Lin" and I'm "Dan".

We beat these two other guys and they said, "We just got beat by Linh-Dan in 3." :p

Hahaha, you guys have got to be called "Team Lin Dan" from now on .
My friend Minh (Minh Dan :)) said he actually played you during a visit to LA during the World Champs last year. He is a member of "Fords Badminton Club" in Liverpool, he visited SGVBC with Rob Sowden, Dave Diep and Gareth Barr. You may remember from one of the names.

Yep, I remember those guys. Very nice guys. They paid for their (your) Coach's trip to the WC, what a great gesture. Good players...

...I've improved tenfold since then and am ready for a rematch. ;)

Please give my regards to all of them. :)

I see them on Sunday so I'll give you a mention then.

Minh said you were a good player when he played you, very deceptive and tricky. I think the rematch will have to be on our turf though because you had the home advantage last time haha :D:p (and maybe you could teach me a thing or two about planting "DinkAlot BOMBS")
