From all the positive comments i have heard so far about SOTX, i am currently considering purchasing one of the following models. 1. Woven 8 2. Woven 12 3. D900 I am a relatively weaker player whose hand usually gets tired easily when using a head heavy racquet so would prefer something lighter or even balanced. I would also like the racquet to be moderately impressive on the offensive department i.e. good power without compromising on the swing speed and maneouverability. Looking for your opinion or even recommendation of other possible models that may be suitable for me. Also i would like to know where are the places that i can find this brand of racquets i.e. shops, online stores....and the best price that i would be able to get at. Thanks for the help.
Those are all good rackets but again, based on your criteria, go with the Woven 8. The 7 and D900 are too heavy and the 9 light but head heavy.
well, the woven 7 and 12 are even balanced..but there are more options to explore. the woven 9 is lighter than usual (around here) at 83gr (4U) but head-heavy. the d900 is probably a no-go. it's 3U ánd head-heavy woven 7, 10, and 11 are also head-heavy. and teh 7 and 11 are 2U, whiel 10 is 3U. ultralight-options: Sotx superlight series ('new') light options: woven 5, woven 6 ( 4U and headlight) medium options: woven 8/12 (3U and medium-balanced) alternative: woven 9 (light bút head-heavy) -what racket are you using now? and what do/don't you like? (if yonex: what weight? question for the experts: how long is the 12? and how stiff..compared to 8?
Currently using a few racquet brands that are a mix of headlight, even balanced and head heavy, quite satisfied with the slightly head heavy Apacs model but thought of trying a SOTX since the comments about them have been rather positive so far. Want to look for a solid and stable racquet with a good feel. If i am not wrong the Woven 12 is 680mm whereas the Woven 8 is 670mm... stiffness the same.
then go for the 8-12 depending on your price-range... sotxsports.de and .com don't really agree on the 12.....so I'm confused. but I'm getting on in the mail in a couple of weeks...so then i'll know rackettesting: I can't wait!!!!
then be very, very patient...July is my only baddy-less month of the year.. but on august I'll join a 5-day badminton camp (about 40 hours of badminton ). so then I might have some spare time for badminton
Vince, you can always try my Woven 8A next time we play again! Actually seeing you play - which you seem like to drive the shuttle hard and fast, Woven 8 may not be the choice you want. You may have underestimated your strength!!!

Dinkalot has had quite a number of post on the various SOTX models, on Woven series, he did this comparison quote Woven 6: light weight, good defensive racket. Woven 7: best bang-for-the-buck attack racket Woven 8: great all-around racket Woven 9: lightweight attack and all-around racket Woven 11: hardest smashing racket I've tried so far Woven 16: good all-around racket but very pricey unquote I have tried them briefly when I was in HKG (except Woven 16) and I agree to his assessment. I would imagine Woven 8 is too defensive for you, and probably Woven 9 is the one you would like. You may want to visit Toa Payoh SAFRA to take a look but there are only limited models available. This is a huge different from teh SOTX shop in HKG where they carry almost all the models available.
Hi, bro Linus ........ any info where can buy the SOTX in HKG ? If near to the Central or Kowloon Ferry Terminal, then maybe can take a look and see while waiting for Ferry to Zhuhai.
But i very scared the head heaviness too taxing on my arm or elbow...must try and feel the racquet first if got chance... but now no chance to buy racquet liao...cos no budget, lost my handphone so budget have to shift over to buy a replacement handphone.... :crying:
Sorry you lost your phone. On another note, the difference between the 8 and 9 is not that extreme. The 8 is more balanced oriented while the 9 is more head heavy but certainly not as head heavy as an AT700.
This is the shop name in HKG: **Racket Shop** 1st floor, 102A Fa Yuen St, MongKok, Hong Kong If you are going to Zhuhai, you may want to search SOTX on the web to see if they have a retail outlet at Zhuhai. SOTX is pretty big in China and its sales HQ is in Shenzhen if I am not wrong.
but the weight difference hsould be noticable, right? how do those two compare in power and defense? (according to you, off course)
