I just bought these yesterday. I tried on the SHB-99 MX and they seemed more flat, and almost like walking on the ground with bare feet. In otherwords, my feet kinda hurt because there was little padding.
The SHB-90 MX were much more comfortable, I could feel more support all around. Maybe, they're a bit heavier, but there was no way I was going to jump around in the SHB-99s.
I will post more thoughts as I use them more...
PS, does anyone have any advice or tricks on how to keep the inside of your shoe from getting wrecked from dragging your back foot when lunging?
My last pair of shoes met its demise because of that, and I'd rather these new $$$ Yonex shoes last longer. I am debating duct taping something onto the area where I drag my shoe...

Does anyone own both the SHB89 and SHB90. Would appreciate any comments regarding the cushioning of the SHB90 compared to SHB89. Thanks.

currently using SHB98 and 99. Bought the 90 to replace my SHB98 which is getting old. Bought at Queensway for $90.
Impressions of SHB90:
(1) Insole is the lower-end type and not the nicer type found in the 99. The 99 insole is very nice.
(2) Better shape for my foot vs SHB98, not as long and narrow.
(3) 99 cushioning and support is still better but 90 is more maneuverable like the 98.
(4) I would call the 90 a slightly improved 98. I still prefer 99 as support and cushioning are more important to an old guy like me where the cost of a specialist consultation with a foot doctor can buy one pair of shoes....
