I'm always shy to be the first reviewer of a popular brand:p

    I've got SHB 98, then SHB99, and finally SHB90.

I think SHB 90 is the best for me since the heel and fore foot cushioning is the best among these three models.

A little off-topics...I've tried Mizuno Wave Smash before and felt the fore-foot cushioning is too thin for me. Then I tried Mizuno Wave Tornado (actually a volleyball shoes within thicker outsole). My arch hurts!!

I think the outsoles of the top-end models of Mizuno have a common problem: the rubber outsole is too soft and will deform when you're lunging or executing a directional-changing footwork. Extra effort is then needed to balance yourself.

I don't know if the price is good (around US$70 in Hong Kong) until I bought and wore them. You'll have your own answer:)

I got hooked on the SHB-90MX as well
and yah it seems to give better cushioning then other ones i've tried
which is a big thumbs up for myself as my knee and ankle isn't exactly
in perfect shape. Try it out at store and see for yrself.. u'll need to do that
neway in-order to find the right size.. yonex's shoe size is rather odd imo..
i went with a US 10 on the 90MX where normally a 9.5 would be enough for my other yonex shoes

I've had the 89, the 99 and now the 90's
Between the 99 and the 90, I feel there quite a bog difference, the 90's are much higher. I've only played with the 90's for a month (as for nearly a year with the 99's). I really like the extra support the 90's give round the ankles.

What are the difference between the MX and LX version other than the colour? I'm a male, but I bought the LX instead because I think red is a better colour

i believe its mx/lx is about low cut or not

is there any cushion that does not deform if stressed too much? yonex become flat after half an year(i don't play often) on both forefoot and heel

i think asics's gel does not deform, but i am also trying to enlarge my choice before getting one...

Yea, I reckoned so, because thats what the shopkeeper told me.

If technically, it's the same.. then I don't think there's any problem..
My friend bought the MX version and I think it's a little wider at the top

Does the 90MX come with wide feet design ?

I intend to get either 99MX or 90MX. A friend bought the 90MX at SGD$95-00.

but I found out the cushion of 99 is much more thicker than 90 (I mean the front part)

When i put them on I found that they had more cushioning around the ankle area and the side of the foot. definately felt more comfortable than the 98's I had but perhaps not as firm. I think I might go back to 98's but will carry on using them for a few weeks and see how they turn out.

I believe the difference between MX and LX is the width. Usually, LX is a bit narrower, according to various of reviews on different models. However, try the shoes with your own feet, and select the more comfortable ones. ;)

Since you have both SHB98 & SHB99, are they the same size? I have a SHB-98 (in US size 9) and may consider getting a SHB-99 from another country. If they are about the same fit, I will just ask my friend to get me a SHB-99 with the same size.

Personal, I own both 98 and 99 as well. For both, i wear US 8.5, no problem at all. However, if you get used to 98, the initial feeling for 99 might be weired (I think due to higher arch). Take it easy for the 1st 1 or 2 sessions, and once you get to it, it does give better comfortable feeling and better protection than 98. However, 98 feels lighter in a way. :)

Is the 99 wider at the front? That's what I read from some of the posts. Please comment. Thanks.

SHB-98 is tighter at the fore foot than SHB-99. BTW, SHB-99 ltd is a bit tighter than ordinary SHB-99:cool:

I just bought these yesterday. I tried on the SHB-99 MX and they seemed more flat, and almost like walking on the ground with bare feet. In otherwords, my feet kinda hurt because there was little padding.

The SHB-90 MX were much more comfortable, I could feel more support all around. Maybe, they're a bit heavier, but there was no way I was going to jump around in the SHB-99s.

I will post more thoughts as I use them more...

PS, does anyone have any advice or tricks on how to keep the inside of your shoe from getting wrecked from dragging your back foot when lunging?

My last pair of shoes met its demise because of that, and I'd rather these new $$$ Yonex shoes last longer. I am debating duct taping something onto the area where I drag my shoe...

Does anyone own both the SHB89 and SHB90. Would appreciate any comments regarding the cushioning of the SHB90 compared to SHB89. Thanks.
