So i have been using mp100 for a while and now everyone says the mp99 is so awsome so i got one. It's much stiffer than my mp100 and i have a hard time hitting with it (mp99). Anyone else feel this way?

erm...I guess Cooler says 'no' but It might very well be your problem adjusting to the racket..play with it for some more time. Give the racket a week or two and then switch back to the mp100 a session, then the mp99 for 5 minutes, then back to mp100, then see wich you like best. head-to-head comparison i sthe best way to see wich you like best...

I thought you said in the yonex measurements thread that there's no difference in stiffness and balancepoint between the different weight classes?

Every word of all your 9,038 post? I don't think so :p

But I remember the discussion about the cab30ms (which I own) being stiffer than the mp99. That's where you commented that different weights didn't affect the flexibility or balance point. I was wuite surprised by that, so that's why I remember.

Personal perceptive... Well that's probably also the thing that makes people think a racket is easier to swing once they've wrapped around another grip, because the balancepoint is lower (yeah... rrrright...)

The MP100 is definitely stiffer, all other things being equal. It could be that you have been using your MP100 for a while and "softened" the shaft, while the MP99 you used could be new. So, in this case, the MP99 would be stiffer then your 100.

Yep, if you keep using it and flexing (and/or overflexing) it. My rackets definitely lose stiffness over time.

both mp99 and mp100 are 3u. I only have the mp100 for about 7 months and i play about 6-7hrs a week. When i hit with the mp99 i feel like no flex at all where mp100 has flex.

Maybe it's the string, cause i just had it strung 22*24 and the mp100's string is used. When i bend the racket, they all feel the same.

    Probably just me.

Update, so i tried the mp99 for a week, and my arm started to hurt about 30min in to game. Finally today, it hurts again like 20min in to game, i switched back to mp100 and arm felt better even i smashed a lot more. This is wierd. Looks like i'm going to sell my mp99.

Sold my mp99 already. Never experience a racquet so stiff. Cab30ms and Ti10 2u seems flexible compared to it. Great control but way too stiff.

cab30 seems flexible compared to mp99?
That's strange, because cooler tested it, and found it to be stiffer than MP99. Maybe the cab30 you played with(don't know if it's yours) is pretty old, making it more flexible.

yes, what i;ve said still hold true because the specs say so and yonex design spec say no. Under different hands, especially someone who hasn't tried enough rackets before, may yield confusing interpretation

thx, yes, test data is accurate.

even if one ignore my test data, just use common sense.
name one current pro double players using mp99?
i can name 2 pros still using mp100, tony g and zhang jun (there are more
    but i dunno them).
I had changed out mp99 long ago coz i wanted more stiffness for doubles

    Correction.

People are changing from mp99 cause they cannot generate decent power from it.

Lin Dan switched from mp99 to at700 cause he saw Taufik was on a winning streak at that time. I guess that also influenced gade to switch from mp88 to at700.

As you see most pros today are using either at700 or at800de. I guess mostly only women or not so high ranked male are still using mp99. Consider this :

LIN Woon Fui - male - MAS : Finalist MD Malaysia Open - Kuching (MAS) Jun.19.2006

Kamilla Rytter Juhl - female - (DEN): Winner European Championships - Den Bosch (NED) Apr.17.2006

ZHANG, Dan(CHN) - female - semi finalist XIV IBF World Championships 2005

ZHANG, Yawen(CHN) - female - semi finalist XIV IBF World Championships 2005

BOE, Mathias(DEN) - male - MD runners up 2005 Aviva Singapore Open (5*)

he said he switched away for more stiffness...that's personal...

I don't agree on the TH-LD-pG thign as well...racket choice is personal, not influenenced by other people, and definatly not because teh competitions wins his matches you must get teh same racket...like that's gonna work..
By that logic, would taufik have played that good without that racket?

I can't comment on the power-thing, since I haven't tried the racket (just some act-alike's) btu you mgith consider the fact that though this racket isn't as powerfull as the extremely head-heavy at700. this racket has other advantages (relatively to the at700: better defense)

edit, reversed sentance, it ís personal..srry
