I was glancing through the auctions on e-bay and saw the following rather humorous item for sale:

    <<PROFESSIONAL BADMINTON SET

Franklin Professional Badminton Set - Titanium Series. Includes 4 steel rackets, 2 shuttlecocks, 1.5" telescoping titanium pvc poles(5 year guarantee), black mesh sleeve net, stakes, ropes, clips, boundary marker kit. New, never used. >>

That's a new use for titanium - in a plastic net pole. Anyone want to e-mail this seller and ask for a list of professional badminton players currently using this equipment?

the titanium is likely contained in the color pigment of the pvc resin.

    holy cow thats so professional.
ti plastic net posts.....sounds so amazing. Along with the highly technologically advanced racquets made of steel! Albeit that the shuttles that they use are made from a rubber for a cork instead of that old fasioned wood....and heavy nylon as the feathers.

Isn't titanium a traditional and not-uncommon whitening enhancer in various types of paint? I'm not thinking of the now-outlawed lead, am I?
