That's good.
I always saw good potential in Shin Baek Choel
Even before his success in Asian Games by winning the Gold
But no one really decided to push him to be up Lee and Chung's level until now. He had the speed, steadiness, defence and fast exchanges. It's always his partners that gets in his way. I've seen alot of his matches and really it appears that way. He's like a team carrier
But at least now he gets the spotlight he deserves... he might not have the same explosiveness as Chung but he'll be faster and have better precision... and being closer to Lee YD in age would probably make them a little more comfortable together
But it will take a while before the two settle with each other. Afterall it is hard to find someone to replace Chung JS' presence.
Eom Hye Won... have to see how she will go though

I reckon
Kim Joong Soo should've kept Lee and Shin together:
Ko and Yoo are already a well established pair. Though they've been inconsistent in recent times, they've already developed the friendship and understanding as a pair. So to separate them after over 4 years worth of preparation?
I think for Lee Yong Dae, he deserves a player like Shin. He may not have the heavy smashing strength but he's able to read the game and play more strategically than Ko... Lee already has a decent smash and Shin's smash is quite lethal too. Can't really say Ko's smash will make that much of a difference

I think Ko would be a better partner for Lee than Shin. While Shin is without doubt a great doubles player, he's probably not the right kind of partner for Lee as he is not very strong physically and not the smashing type. Playing for the #1 ranking spot you just need one guy who can play from the back for long periods of time and smash over 270 consistently to set up the net player. Shin has a very good smash, but imop he can't keep the intensity on a similar level as JJS...while Ko can. He has a different style than JJS but the same physical levels and an awesome smash, I believe if he and LYD are partnered up regularly they can go very far (if Ko can stay concentrated and not smash crosscourt all the time
)

Nope... I bought it from E-Link and arranged myself for the text to be heat-transferred and flag to be sewed on.

The LYD is head-heavier. Which might actually have helped today, seeing the smashing tactic worked much better against the malaysians than any of the other things they tried.

They usually do. Afaik he's been using the BS12 consistently in the last 2 tournaments (DO PSS&FO SS)....perhaps the softer shaft is more to his liking for some reason. Might be a slight injury, might be that he wants easier accessible power....or the control that comes with a bigger racket head

Imop the BS12 is a great all-rounder, with lots of speed in front and mid-court play and defense as well as decent power from the back (if used correctly).Last edited by j4ckie; 10-26-2012 at 10:08 PM.
