Even though I have been watching many matches for the past 6 months, the players doesnt seem like they are breaking too many bird. So now I was wondering, what do the organizers or Yonex do with the birds? Do they jst toss it out or rip out the feather and re-use the corks?

But is it good to rip out the feather on the birds and re-use the cork to make new sets of birds?

It will be used by the local national team for practices or will be used by the organisers for the players of that country.

Our club buys all the 'discarded' shuttles that were played with durign the Dutch Open, the national champs and (this year) the EC.

We got about 2 of those big boxes(used for transporting 50 tubes) full of 'good' shuttles. ideal for practise/multiple shuttle drills.

our centre got two big boxes of as-20's from the australian under 17 tournament, but they're quite scruffed up and are used for the beggining juniors

well, it's msotly warmign up. training and playign is brand-new AS-30. -50 if we're lucky...
most shuttles are badly messed up due to the storage (stuffe din a box) and juniors nót discrading a bad shuttle. But there's certainly good stuff in the boxes.

and mulitple-shuttle-drills is what really fires up my coach...The record being 12 shuttles to totally knock me to the floor...murder...:D. and it was really simple ( half drive/lift to give an around-the-head smash, followen by a net kill straight forward, followed by a cross net-kill, and back again. 3 times, comptletely out of breath for a minute. unbelievable pace)

Wow, the shuttles helped your coach to murder you that easily.
Maybe you need more practice my friend. ;) And as you said it was a drill, so just prctice hard my friend!

well, they didn't help..he used them...It was just an example of what we did with those shuttles.

trust me, I practise enough...and when I decided it was a good time to lie down he told me i shóuld be that tired. if I wans't I didn't go 100%....even the local hot-shots die up on such a drill. because you háve to for it to be efficient...:D

i think I have a tendancy to go off-topic today....

But perhaps they will take the cork out, strip the outer covering of the cork, then they use it as a stopper in those beer bottles...who knows??

not really, the cork after some badass smashing, will have small cracks and soften up, it will reduce the shuttle speed. but in some other threads they do sell to clubs at cheaper rates i think.
