Anyone have any information on how hes doing? He is one of my favorite players. I hope he gets back to 100% for the Olympics. It would be a great way to end his career - Winning or medalling in the Olympics.

He is doing well. Doing therapy right now. At least he is doing some jogging already. He can actually play at the end of the year if he is doing the right thing. But he is not risking it. Might play next year most likely.

It wasn't a mere ankle injury. He ruptured his achilles tendon.

I want WCH to end his career at the Olympics with a gold. He deserves it and Malaysia deserves it.

All of us also want that to happen. But it will be hard for him now since there is many other stronger players. :) He knows that many people are supporting and wishing for his quick recovery.

Is there any possibility of sending WCH to world championship in September instead of Kuan Beng Hong ? Even Sairul is better than Kuan.:D

Madrid is way too soon. As I recall, WCH has also had surgery to his wrist. It took him a while to get the 'feeling' of the shots back. I'm guessing it takes more than 6 months to get the 'feel' of the shots back. So, IF he decides to make a comeback and have results, expect it to be a year from the time of injury. My feeling is doubles is easier than singles because doubles needs less of the touch shots.

Then again, who has ever heard of a badminton player actually recovering from an achilles tendon injury and still play again at a high level? IF WCH does so, he would be the first.....

thats y we won't be seeing him playing this year.
So does he want to be inclined in playing doubles? Well his answer was that he still prefer singles. Buts its ok too if he play doubles.

I was talking to an international Canadian doubles player who played in the Commonwealth games. Him and his partner played WCH and some other guy who specialized in doubles. Apparently WCH was much better b/c his recovery time was out of this world b/c his legs are ridiculously strong.

I only hope 12 months is not too long for WCH's will to compete. At his age and so much time, he might start having second thought. Looking forward to seeing him in Beijing 2008.
