    Harsh realities? Lebanon war crisis?

I'll worship anyone who gets a gold for Malaysia in the Olympic games... Even Indonesia achieved that earlier than us... They should be proud of Taufik

Agreed... but then again, people in North America worship Hollywood-ers too much. At least he has some real talent .

As a sports supporter, sometimes you must "worship" the player you are proud of.....It gives you a kind of total excitement and pleasure...Nothing wrong with it

Default 2 on 1 training Zhao & Yang Yang

I also have on good authority from my coach who was sent on a Canada/China exchange in the mid 80's that it was a common way to practice for Zhao Jian Hua & Yang Yang plus the other players.

In his words "1 hr offence, 1 hr defence, two against one" Or was it two hours of each. I'll have to ask him again. If done properly it's difficult to pressure players one on one.

Nothing else that new about their training just lots of physical and low tech plyometrics - skipping rope w/ sand filled weight vest & Yang Yang doing squat jumps with 60lb weight hence the monstrous vertical jump smashes.

don't get me wrong, i think taufik is an excellent player, definitely one of the top players over the last decade. but i think that rudy was a much better player in his time, virtually untouchable during the period when he dominated the all-england championships. i think taufik still has quite a way to go to match rudy's achievements. however, there's no doubt he has the potential to do it, although time is slowly running out ....

He should retire after 2008 olympics if he does not even try hard enough in all the other tournaments expect for WC... how many times do you want to be known for losing to "supposingly lower rank" players in international tournaments as an OLYMPIC GOLD METALISTS!!!
