I boke my MP99 2 days ago during my league match. About 3 months ago, the racquet started to chip in the shaft section connecting the cone, and it makes a clicking sound everytime i take a hard swing. Then 2 day ago at my match, the racquet just broke in half in mid swing while i was doing a lift, the broken half darted forward into the other half of the court, luckily no body got hurt:eek:

I had the racquet for about 10 months, is there a possibilities the racquet has a defect?

you should contact the yonex dealership in south africa. they may get you to send the racquet in for examination and if they think it was a defect, they'll replace it for you. if not, then well, there's no harm in trying ...
    tough luck though! :(

    Try to get the warranty!!!

But then again... a guy at my club has got the same problem...
But in his case, the shafts brake at the handle:eek:
This got to do with his technique, and very strong wrist!!!
He was recommended a more flexible racquet by Yonex...:p

That because the shaft was too stiff and the snap he made with his
wrist was straining the shaft too much!!!

    K3v1nL,

my mp99 had the same chip on the cone and shaft joint, but didn't break yet, i'm afraid it will soon, is urs 3U-G4? is the damage on the joint before breaking just the paint or the carbon graphite?

mine is a 2U-G3, i can only get 2U-G3 here in South Africa. It seems that the visible damage was just the paint, but as I said the racket made clicking noise while i play and that could be the graphite breaking.

An unknown or "un-noticable" reason does not equal to "no reason". ;)
