...the crack in the shaft went almost 720 degrees so it was only a matter of time.

Jerry, I hope you don't do the same thing to your 11s cause it'll start getting expensive. :p

He should try squash racket first. If it still breaks.. then he should use Tennis racket.

    Sir Dink,

I think you should use those training rackets (130g-160g) as your main weapon instead. :)

Wow, you've broken another woven 11 which hapapens to be what I'm dreaming to own soon.

Good choice! I feel the Woven 11 is a great racket, one of the best heavy rackets, just ask Jerry (Jerby). :D

This is actually the 3rd one broken at the shaft. Another broke at the 9 o'clock position. So far, my two remaining, "new" 11s have no signs of damage. I'll keep knocking on wood. :p

    That is just insane!!!

You must get through hundreds of dollars worth of equipment each week, how do you afford it!
I just hope you have a very lucrative sponsorship deal!

Just to check, when you play badminton you play with shuttles and not bricks right???

    :D

    Dink,

Maybe try to reinforce the shaft area with carbon-fiber tape or some sort of duct tape.:D

have you broken any woven 8 or 9's in the same shaft area?

also, that looks like a new string job....so sad to see good string go to waste.

Wow, up so early Paul. :D

I have not used the Woven 8 or 9 long enough to do any (potential) damage.

Yeah, that was a relatively new string job, SOTX BS-963. Good stuff but I feel the MP string is more powerful and has a slightly crisper in feel.

You have any suggestions for rackets that hit similar to the 11?

Me up early? looks like we both have insomenia.....hehehe.

I would recommend using your 8 or 9 for awhile and see if the shaft breaks like the 11. (use it till you break it)

Try generating a little less torque with your wrist snap, probably the main cause of the breaking shaft.

Other racket that I can think of with stiff shaft would be Yonex Ti-10 or Wilson nCode 2. I think both have the super stiff shaft and in your weight catagory. I have a nCode 2 if you want to try it.

I'm not surprised actually:p you should be dinking more;)

I'm not planning to go through my 11's like that though . mine will last me for years to come (*searches for a big piece of wood*, better start knocking..)

Though I'm warmign up my dad's 13 tonight. Somehow the resulting tension on a 22lbs strung racket feels like 24...So i'm warming it up tonight...:D

Maybe you shoudl give the stb9080 a try. it's says 'maximum tension 35lbs' so maybe it's more rigid...it's only 90 grams though:D:p

BTW, how come your serial number (ded-290xxx) is on the shaft? all of mine are on the cone...

The 8 and 9 are a bit too light for me now. I'll just wait for my D600s and in the mean time try other rackets.

I have no clue why the serial number is there. I've had six Woven 11s and 5 Woven 7s, 3 Woven 9s now and 3 of them had the serial number on the shaft. Steve said it's not common though, just sometimes.
