    QI sponsors IBF World C'ships
JAKARTA: The International Badminton Federation (IBF) has sealed a deal with Hong Kong-based QI Ltd to sponsor the World Badminton Championships 2006 in Madrid from Sept. 18-24.

The company sponsored the same event in 2003 in Birmingham, England.

Vijay Eswaran, a Malaysian-born Hong Kong businessman and the founder of QI Ltd, said in a statement that the company was honored to be associated with a fast-growing popular sport such as badminton.

"Running a business like QI Ltd is similar to badminton which requires quick reflexes and superb conditioning," he said. "We need stamina to operate a global concern such as ours and to be speedy enough to adapt to the dynamic business environment." -- JP

I assume this is the same QI that sponsored the WC2003 as well?

If so it is good that we have a non badminton related sponsor that is willing to contribute to major events.

If not what do they do?

YOnex is the sponsor for equipments but not the MAJOR sponsor for the event.
