We currently use shuttles that are weight 5.0 and we find they work just fine. Of course, it's still nice & warm here in Vancouver. Would these really be too slow once we get into the cold & rainy months? I know weight 5.1/speed 78 is recommend for Vancouver, but we get a really good price for these shuttles but the dealer only has weight 5.0. TIA. pedro22
Depend on what's the gym condition is. If the gym has temperature control (i.e. A/C, etc), then I guess the impact from weather could be greatly reduced. However, if not, then it might impact the shuttle's flight. I will suggest simply using whatever you are using now, as it works fine for you. If it does not work once it gets colder, simply purchase 78 for that particular season. Well store the 77, and save them for the next warmer season to come.
Like LB said, it really depends on the gym you play in. If it has air conditioning and heating, 5.0 grams shuttlecocks should be fine.
I guess I'm safe with the 5.0 shuttles as the court we play in has heating. Thanks for your responses.
I have a question. so spd 77 is good if the gym is above 23 C and sped 78 is for gym below 23 C. so the colder the temp you have to use higher speed shuttles?
