I remember reading a post here a little while ago about an MP55 being strung at high tensions because it is a 1 piece frame whereas Ti rackets are not. Is it true that Ti rackets can't take the tensions that 1 piece rackets can? I always thought that Ti rackets could take higher tensions thats why i strung them tighter.... anyway.. thanx
uhhhh in MY experience, my ti7 broke.....cos of the following reasons: 1)it was strung kinda high for a 3u(23x25) 2)the 2 main center strings broke. so when this happened, the cross strings pulled the frame together and the frame cracked at the 12 o clock position...that spot is actually where the racquet is um...glued or heated or stuck together...so basically, my 2 peice racquet broke at the joint... now, i also broke the strings on an mp77 which was at 24lb... same strings, same spot(nice fluke huh), and guess what? nothing happened to the frame...it was 100% fine. so there u have it: the diff b/w 2 peice and 1 peice....1 peice is definately more durable....oh btw, the mp77 was 3u as well.
the yo sports guy said that mp55 played like an mp77.... has anyone tried the 2 racqyets and have come to the same conclusion? he said that they both have same stiffness and balance....the play is the same, just that one is long and one isnt.
Yo Shaun, why did you change away from the Ti-7?? I'm starting to move towards the Ti-7 now since the Slim-10 is out of production. The Ti-7 is such a great racket. I find it to be an excellent doubles racket though i play more singles.... Get the 2U version if you can, the head is light.
ti7 is still kool...tho i havent tried the 2u yet...i'll see how it is when i actually do give it a try! i still dont thing its THAT head light, its not as head light as ti8 thats for sure lol.
Huh? I've tried both the Ti-8 and the Ti-7 and i find the Ti-7 to be more head light than the Ti-8. I find the Ti-8 to be more of an evenly balanced racket.
HUH are u serious? well i tried the 2u ti8...and the ti7 i used was a 3u....which actually was evenly balanced if not slightly head heavy....
maybe i remember wrong about the ti 8 then heh. then again, the ti8 grip was g2.....and the ti7 was g4....big diff! the ti8 grip was HUGE...so that could have wot made it feel more head light....i cant wait till my 2u ti7 comes!
