Yang/Zhang v Chin/Wong again after last week in KO.
Have the MAS pair gain enough experience from the last match?

Choong/Lee v Hoon/Tan again. If I am not wrong the last time that met is in Malaysia Open this year with a 3 setters to Chong/Lee.

Lee CW v Lee HI. The korean is in top form now.

Lin Dan v Taufik. Can Taufik shut LD mouth this time?

It's not about experience. They're basically just not good enough to take on the top ranks. They can steal some matches here and there, but there is no quality to threaten them continuously, as compared to say Korea's Lee/Lee.

Yes, u r right. I wish they spot the weaknesses of this Chinese pair and give them a good fight as no one is perfect.

    MEN'S SINGLES
Lin Dan vs Taufik Hidayat (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- Lin Dan should win, but, Taufik could surprise us.

Sony Dwi Kuncoro vs Kenneth Jonassen -- I am rooting for Sony to win!

Boonsak Ponsana vs Chen Jin -- the Chinese player to win.

Lee Hyun Il vs Lee Chong Wei -- yet again a meeting between these 2 players...Lee to prevail...as usual!

    MEN'S DOUBLES
Sudket Prapakamol/Songpol Anukritayawan vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan -- a tricky tie for Kido/Hendra, but, they should manage and reach their second consecutive semi-finals.

Shuichi Sakamoto/Shintaro Ikeda vs Guo Zhendong/Xu Chen -- the Chinese pair should have an advantage, esp after the impressive victory over Luluk/Alvent.

Hoon Thien How/Tan Boon Heong vs Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah -- they have met in the final of the ABC earlier this year and the veteran won that time.

Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya vs Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- a thrilling match in store....veterans vs young guns. Tony/Candra seem to be able to beat the young guns they have met so far (Kido/Hendra, Lee/Hwang, Guo/Xie). If they can beat Fu/Cai tomorrow, they should win the title.

    WOMEN'S SINGLES
Zhang Ning vs Yao Jie (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- the world no 1 to win!

Jiang Yanjiao vs Pi Hongyan -- likewise, the Chinese player to win!

Tine Rasmussen vs Wang Chen -- Wang is the only local player left in the tournament. She should win!
Petya Nedeltcheva vs Xie Xingfang --

    WOMEN'S DOUBLES
Gao Ling/Huang Sui vs Du Jing/Yu Yang -- the more senior pair to win.

Chien Yu-Chin/Cheng Wen-Hsing vs Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- the Chinese pair has the edge.

Saralee Thoungthongkam/Sathinee Jankrajangwong vs Gail Emms/Donna Kellogg -- a tough match for both pairs. The Thai pair to win!

Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui vs Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen -- the Chinese to win!

    MIXED DOUBLES
Zhang Jun/Gao Ling vs Daniel Shirley/Joanna Quay Swee Ling -- the no 1 seed should not have a problem.

Zheng Bo/Zhao Tingting vs He Hanbin/Yu Yang -- the more senior pair to win!

Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg vs Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen -- likewise, the Chinese pair holds an edge.

Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam vs Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir (MATCH OF THE ROUND) -- regardless of who win the HK Open, I think Nova/Butet is guaranteed the top seeding at the upcoming WC since thay have at least reached the QF. They should win and face their nemesis Xie/Zhang in the SF.

Looking at all the matches, the QE Stadium SHOULD BE PACKED wall to wall & to the max...;) :)
I think the atmosphere should be close to a Finals day...

Re the MD match, i think even if Tony/Candra are able to pass thru vs. Fu/Cai, they'll have another veteran nemesis waiting for them in the Semis(if Lee/Choong are able to pass thru, which they should). So i wouldn't underestimate those 2 veterans. Then if they're able to beat the 2 MAS veteran pair in the Semis, i will be hoping & looking fw to their 3rd encounter vs. the up-and-coming Kido/Setiawan. Not to undemine their opponents, but the Pelatnas juniors should advance against their next opponents the QF and the SF Rds and hopefully setup another encounter & rematch with Tony/Candra in the Final...:cool:

A bit off topic:I WANT A WEB BROADCAST for the QF

sigh, someone out there should know a link for the web broadcast...:p :( Esp. for us to watch the QF matches...Esp. considering it's in HK with China's access to broadcasting..I might sound desperate, but it's almost unbearable to see all those appetizing matches going on while we only can watch the score updates here...:p :crying: :(

nice, chen jin has a little rivalry between boonsak, i remember watching them in all england and it ended being 17-14,17-14 to chen jin, boonsak wanted revenge in a later tournament but lost again, this will be interesting and close in my opinion. Chen Jin to win!

I would also like to to sudket and saralee to progress!

Lee to prevail. No kidding. There's a 100% chance of that. :D Concerning your actual prediction in bold, though, I'm not so sure. Lee Chong Wei has been struggling lately. It took him 3 games to beat the young Indian and of course he lost to Roslin last week. Lee Hyun-il could seize the opportunity this week, not that the Korean isn't prone to lacklustre performances himself.
This is absolutely right. Even if they lose tomorrow and Zhang/Gao win the tournament, the Indonesians will be 330 points ahead and the current #1, Lee/Lee of Korea will be 1500 points back. Xie/Zhang, even if they were to pull off a win at this tournament, will still enter the WC ranked 9th in the world.
