haha, i reckon any sport needs colourful characters, otherwise it's just boring if all the players are the same. not that i condon what taufik did, but at least it created some excitement.

Yeah, indeed.. got some excitement. In fact, Taufik did shake hand with LD. Not so bad. LOL.

And taufik-ist, no need to apologize..

Well you do not need to apologize on behalf of Taufik. I think he will not like it for sure.

Default Haven't we seen this action by Taufik before??..

sigh, i actually found out last night, just before i went offline, abt what happened in the TH vs. LD match...but didn't bother to write anything..

Well, i think this sums it up pretty good...We don't know what went on in his mind at that time, but whatever it was, it surely ticked him off. I would venture to say his "trauma" from last week's Korea Open, where the same old controversy came up, probably lingered back.
Anyways, Taufik has been, is and will be like that..He will not change, even if he wins 1 or 2 Olympic or World Championships..
The only person and/or people i felt sorry for are his opponent(this time it was LinDan) and the spectators watching the match..The latter as if it's almost they've got "ripped off"..

Looking at the recent appearances and participations, I don't know if he'll be ready for the WC..Who knows which Taufik will show up?!?!..

Taufik sets world record for the quickest loss (21pt system).
Nothing to be proud of, but it is another record.

taufik-ist, you are a truly hardcore fan of TH. By the way, did you get permission from him before volunteering the apology? Otherwise, he might be mad at you next thinking "who says its my fault" : )

Red, did your dv cam manage to record the match?

taufik-ist, you can blame PBSI for this. They spoilt Taufik so much that they just killed his career completely. PBSI should have seen this coming and do something before it got worse but no, they even spoilt him further by giving him more money and lands. Sad.

    My arguments:

    1. The committee has failed to appoint good linemen/women.
    2. This is a 6* event.
    3. The linemen/women must be "alert" (that's their job).
    4. If the linemen/women have the right to change their decision, then Taufik has also the right to protest it.
    5. The committee has failed to anticipate this kind of controversies by provided instant video replay facilities to resolve the problem.
    6. It is TH's right to be treated fairly.

    My opinions:
    1. The linelady/umpire/referee/committee should made a public appology for this incident, not TH. They should admit that they have made a mistake. Did they?
    2. Players are not "gladiators" who must play to the satisfaction of the spectators. They must also be protected
    3. TH was only reacting.

And many others, I have a meeting to attend. WIll continue...

Hmm, I don't believe you were this vocal about fair play when the other players (eg. Peter Gade, Lin Dan, Bao Chunlai, etc...) received some bad lines calls. I think you need to tone down a little bit as Taufik was clearly wrong in this situation. Even if the shuttle went out and the linesjudege called it out, he should have just continued after that one bad call. He's a "professional" athlete for god sakes but after this incident I don't know if he should be called "professional" anymore.

Other emotional/childish reponses such as crying after winning a match is fine but this is unacceptable. Taufik needs to think about his actions and the consequences and how they affect other people and not just for himself because that's just plain SELFISH!!
