I think she played well. Furthermore she started to play badminton only at her late 30s or early 40s i think.

Sally's contribution to the baddy community is not based on how many WC titles she ever got. She uses her "star power" to promote this sport. We should show our respect for all the effort that she put in.

There are many "joe" club lvl players, who might never win a title, even be it a small local tourny. However, just all these "not so great players" get together, formed this great community. :)

Don't make conclusion so soon. She won a lot of XD tournments here in the bay area. You may say her partner is an ex-Chinese national player. But if she is not good enough, their opponent can pick on her easily. :)

I agree. Doubles (be it level or xd) are totally different than singles. One player might be great in singles, but could be a draw back in doubles, if s/he has no idea about how to utilize him/herself and/or the partner. In doubles, it's all about being effective. If you can utilize your strength, and "hide" your weakness, you could be very good in doubles (according to a reasonable level, of course). ;)

Sally might not have the skills to play like a champ, but I am sure in a MX event, any guy partners with her will give all out to win. Motivating your partner is no less important in a game, dun you agree?
