no ribs. grip with ribs feels weird in my hand. a little ribs like blackknight replacement grip is OK, but the big one like on karakal...don't like it.

Definitely no ribs. I find that the ribs interfere with my ability to slide my hand up and down the grip (changing from short to long grips), because they create more friction.

Ditto, although my racket tends to form some small ribs after a couple days after putting on new grip where my hand holds it most of the time.

I prefer with ribs. It gives me more friction and comfortable cushion feel.

no ribs, played with friends racquet once, it is impossible to switch grips from backhand to forehand & viceversa for me. Therefore, my backhand sucked.

Ribbed. Better for my sweaty hand. Kimony KGT-109 or KGT-109-25 are my choices.

interesting.. so far its 2:4 (3:4 if u include me) pro rib..

ever since i bought my old black knight i've been using a rib, and i never switch my grip during play. even then i do have a pretty nice backhand, as others can vouch for... but my rib is sorta 'home made' got a couple foamy pads from work and ribbed my racquet with that then overgripped it with Super Grap. the end result is the rib is a little thicker than usual.. i've always been petrified of the racquet comin out of my hand:(

Ribbed for me; sounds like we are talking about condoms: "The thinner the merrier."

Anyways, ribbed helps my sweaty hands from slipping as much. It also gives me a feel of control when I loosen my grip during swings.

NO ribs for me. I'm a lefty and the ribs are always going the opposite direciton, it hurts my hand. Even when it is going the same way, i don't like the feel of it. I feel it slows me down when i'm gonig from the cone to the bottom of the grip.

in terms of being a lefty and ribs going the opposite direction, just wrap your grip the opposite way.

ribs for me. i like variation in cushy feel and tend to clench on the handle too hard with a flat grip.

    Grips with ribs or not?

    Hi Guys,
If u are guys who love to change yr grips during play, u may prefer thin grips without ribs. Personally, I prefer grips without ribs and prefer tacky and thin grips. Reasons being, I love to use my fingers to hold the handle and change my grips according to situational requirements.Ribs in grips will hinder my movement. :D

I used to prefer the ribbed feel until I switch to feather shuttles and start playing with more variation. The ribs makes it easier to smash harder due to better grip on my hand, however, it does interfere with finger movement along the handle like others say. So now, it's just supergrap non-ribbed for me:D.

ribbed or not ribbed, I think this could also applied to something else, doesnt it ? :p

But I prefer not ribbed as it really hinders me from switching grip position as I also has got some really small hands.
