Kaori Mori (JAP) vs Anu Nieminen (FIN)

Indeed, Jiang Yanjiao vs Saina Nehwal will be an interesting one. Bad draw for the Indian player.

coz rachel van custen was not put into the draw, when she was suppose to be in it. But i have also read that the Danish team made a complaint.

Hmmm...Fransisca Ratnasari has a winnable first tie before she faces the winner between Wong Meow Choo and Chien Yu-Chin. On paper, looks better than the previous draw. At least, she has the chance to progress beyond the first rond

A Round 1/16 appearance will be a bonus for her as Zhang Ning probably awaits at that stage!

WS is so harsh.
you can roughly tell when your competition ends just by checking when you'll meet ZN or XXF.

Analysis of the re-drawn WS:

QUARTER 1
Zhang Ning (1)
Wong Meow Choo (9/16)
Yao Jie (5/8)
Tracey Hallam (9/16)
-- As mentioned above, Nana is in this quarter and she should win her first match, before facing the winner of the match between Wong Meow Choo vs Chien Yu-Chin. Xing Aiying also has a tough draw with a match against Zhang Ning if she can beat Rachel Hindley. Meanwhile, Yao Jie has a tricky first tie against Hirayama Yu. She is likely to face Monthila Meemek and Tracey Hallam before another meeting with Zhang Ning beckons.
Zhang to qualify from this quarter!

QUARTER 2
Wang Chen (3/4)
Petra Overzier (9/16)
Kaori Mori (9/16)
Jiang Yanjiao (5/8)
-- the young Chinese player faces a tricky tie against Saina Nehwal and she should meet Kaori Mori in the round of 16. Meanwhile, Wang Chen has a pretty smooth route to the quarter-final, with possible matches against Anna Rice and Petra Overzier. If things go according to seedings, the QF match between Wang and Jiang should be pretty interesting. Jiang to qualify from this quarter!

QUARTER 3
Yip Pui Yin (9/16)
Pi Hongyan (5/8)
Tine Rasmussen (9/16)
Xie Xingfang (3/4)
-- Tine Rasmussen vs Cheng Shao-Chieh is probably the pick of the tie for the first round. It's a 50-50 match and I do hope Cheng can win. The winner of that tie should progress to the round of 16 with a possible match against Xie Xingfang. The other quarter-finalist is probably Pi Hongyan, although she has to beat Yip Pui Yin in the round of 16. Xie to qualify from this quarter!

QUARTER 4
Hwang Hye Youn (9/16)
Petya Nedeltcheva (5/8)
Eriko Hirose (9/16)
Xu Huaiwen (2)
-- This is the only quarter without a Chinese player and it should be pretty open! Eriko Hirose faces a tricky tie against Salakjit Ponsana, but she should win that and meet Xu in the round of 16. The Singaporean player Li Li has a good chance to reach the quarter-final, if she can beat both Petya Nedeltcheva and Hwang Hye Youn. Xu Huaiwen to qualify from this quarter!

The title is probably going to be contested (yet again) between Zhang Ning and Xie Xingfang

Wong MC has a much tougher draw than before. First Chien, then Fransisca before Zhang. Before this, she would have breezed to the 3rd round to face Xie.

I think it is quite unfortunate that this draw had to be redone because of an error by the IBF. During 2005 Worlds also they had to do a redraw because of an error by the IBF; I believe it was the MXD. Thought they would be more careful this time!
Way to go IBF...
