Well there's this "click" noise everytime the shaft flex's on my old back up racquet, whats this mean, is it breaking or something?

the cone, glue, maybe some stuff coming loose inside the shaft...
    theres lots of reasons why.
but it'd be a good reason to look carefully to ensure the health and longevity of your racquet, in addition to the safety of those around you. :p

Top of the grip splitting tends to generate that sort of noise, may be worth taking the cone and grip off and gluing the handle back together.

Would the "click" come from the frame? Then it may be the broken grommet debris. If so, just ask your stringer to take it out when restringing the racket.

thanks for all the replies, the sound is deffinetly coming from the shaft not the head or grip though.
