I love my Carlton Powerblade Tour but found it very short compared to the higher-end Yonex MP rackets. Does Carlton produce a longer version of this racket? Is there a similar racket from other manufacturers? preferably 'long' version
According to www.badmintonzon.com, the Powerblade Tour is 2 cm shorter than the MP 99 which is a long, so there is really no difference. And it is 1 cm shorter than the Yonex standard length of 67 cm.
the difference is not 2cm. i have here five airblade superlites (2003), all measuring 665mm, +/- 1mm if strung, they are strung between 23-25lbs. my friend has three powerblade superlites (2005) (which should measure out to be the same as powerblade tour's), come out to be 666mm, +/- 1mm, all strung at 23lbs. now another friend of mine has three mp99's, two from 2004, one from 2006. and they all measure to be around 671mm +/- 1mm, when strung at 24lbs. that i conclude, to be a difference of barely a centimeter. the handles however, is a huge difference. the bottom of my handle, to the top of my cone is almost 2cm shorter than the powerblade superlite, and the powerblade superlite is just over 1cm shorter than the mp99's.
I think the carlton nanolite powerblade is a longer version. You could check them out if they are available where you are. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36573
