Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 12-Aug-2012 (A Short Report)

We welcomed 4 new trainees;
* Federick-A
* James-L
* Venus-P
* Yoshiko-G
Hope that they have enjoyed and learnt a few things from us.

At this CCC CATS, we worked on 3 Overhead Strokes: Clear, Dropshot, Smash.

Some comments:
1. For the Clear, your follow-through swing is important to direct your shot with accuracy. Point of impact be around 11:30 o'clock.
2. For the Dropshot, your point of impact (around 11 o'clock) is important to create the flat trajectory.
3. For the Smash, your point of impact should be around 10:30 o'clock to create a steep trajectory. Concentrate on the Gap.
4. For the Lift, your follow-through swing is important to direct your shot with accuracy. For your longest reach, have your racket-foot forward.
5. For the Block, it is best to have your racket-head around knee-level with a backhand grip. Shine to a Maxima on your side of the court, so that your Maxima will be safe when higher.
6. Don't forget to count your footwork as you move.
7. Do some simple exercises (push-ups and sit-ups) at home to increase your strength.
8. etc, etc, ...

* Timothy-T and Venus-P are doing OK.
* Brendan-L and Theo-D will need more practice on the "Smash".
* Federick-A and James will need to concentrate harder on the sequence of the drill.
* Margaret-W and Yoshiko-G will need more practice on their basic shots first.

Hi CCC CATS trainees,

Bad news.

I have been informed that the Badminton tournament requires more courts and this time they've moved onto the table tennis side (time required is from 8:30am to 11:30am).

This means that no court booking is avalaible for us for our regular time slot (10am-12noon). However, we can have courts between 11:30am and 3:00pm.

If trainees wish, you can post the time that you wish to have.

Time slots available are from 11:30am to 3:00pm. Therefore, post what time slot you wish to have, for example;

* 11:30am to 1:30am
* 12:00pm to 2:00pm
* 12:30pm to 2:30pm
* 1:00pm to 3:00pm
* Any time to 3:00pm

Please inform me as soon as possible (before other players book those courts which are still available).
