Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 16-Sep-2012 (A Short Report)

It's sorry to be informed that 3 trainees couldn't attend (informing us in the last 24 hours), namely;
* Rebecca G
* Jane-Z
* James-L
Hope that they are OK.

At this session, we worked on the Smash and Blocking the Smash.

Some comments:
1. Timothy-T's Smash is getting more powerful, but placement (from better follow-through) is needed.
2. Brendan-L working on the Jump Smash is good, gaining a steeper trajectory.
3. More deception (for the direction of the Smash) will be needed in later lessons.
4. Preparation and Footwork were worked on for Returning the Smash.
5. The Shining for Blocking the Smash will need more practise for better Maxima with control/precision .
6. Important Reminders:
* The Shining is controlled by your thumb and fore-finger.
* Know where to set your base when expecting the Smash versus expecting other strokes.
* To make decision - When to or not to smash.
* Understand why the backhand grip is better for preparing for Blocking the Smash.
* When doing the strokes, it's best to breathe out.

Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 23-Sep-2012 (A Short Report)

It's sorry to be informed that Jane-Z couldn't attend at the very last minute.

At this session, we worked on the Dropshot.

Some comments:
1. James L's Dropshot is excellent.
2. Timothy T's getting to fall closer to the net.
3. Brendan L's point of impact need to be higher.
4. Trajectory for cross-court is higher than for the straight ones.
5. More Deception is required for the Dopshot to be a winner.
6. Preparation and Footwork were worked on for Returning the Dropshot.
7. The Shining for Returning the Dropshot will need more practise for better control/precision .
8. Important Reminders:
* The Shining is controlled by your thumb and fore-finger.
* To make decision - When to Bounce or Lift?
* Understand why the Follow-through is so important for the Lift.
* When doing all strokes, it's best to breathe out at the point of impact.
