Here is a short report for our Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 24-Feb-2013.

We found a message from sushmanemani saying that her ankle injury has not fully recovered - Therefore she won't be attending. Hope that she will be OK for our next CATS.

At this CATS, we went through the topic on Net-play because we had a rather hot day (around 35°C.).

Points to remember;

* Know how to apply the correct Grips when playing at Net-play.

Main points:
(1) Don't hold your grip too tight.
(2) Check on how you are 'shinning' your racket-face.
(3) Create the 'maxima' on your side of the net.
(4) Don't think that your 'maxima' needs to be low. As long as it is on your side of the net, it does't matter how high it is.
(5) Aim to allow the shuttlecock to fall on the net-tape. That's the ultimate/best way to win at Net-play.
(6) Footwork - It's best to use the 'longest-reach' method.
(7) Viewing our point of impact - It's best at eye-level.
(8)) Use your non-racket arm to balance yourself. Palm facing up will raise your non-racket arm higher.
(9) To prevent twisting your racket-foot, point your toes outward. With sushmanemani's injury to refer to, I need to stress on this important point.

At our CCC Social Session (on Wednesday 27-Feb-2013), Mario-P suggested to have a lesson on the Smash technique for this coming CATS (on Sunday 03-Mar-2013).

The weather forecast says we could have a maximum of 29°C for Sunday 03-Mar-2013.

I think the condition is OK to practise the Smash. But, make sure you trainees bring your water bottles and towels for this Smashing lesson.
