Please be informed that for our CCC CATS on Sunday 25-Sep-2011, we shall be training at our usual time: from 10:00am to 12:00noon, and on different court: Court No.16 & 20 (in the Table Tennis Hall).

Do always check this info thread regularly. This is because there are so many events happening at MSAC; that we can receive late changes to our CCC CATS Program at the very last moment.

There is a suggestion from helmut telling me that it's best for me to suggest which chapter/topic to teach based on what I find is lacking amongst our trainees. - but nitiny has requested for the 'Overhead Backhand Clear'.

Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 25-Sep-2011 (A Short Report)

At this CCC CATS, we worked on the 'Overhead Backhand Clear'.

Glad to welcome 2 new trainees;
* Sharon-D
* Grace-C
Hope that they have enjoyed learning Badminton with us.

I think everyone understand why we need the essential footwork and stroke action when playing Overhead Backhand Clear.

Some comments;
* It's found that nitiny and Shaoqi-C find it difficult to change from their usual footwork to what was taught. But with more practice at drills, you can get it.
* Sharon-D and Grace-C, as beginners, learned their footwork without problems.
* KeChong-K, JinHooi-T and Timothy-T have added more transfer of weight/momentum into their strokes.
* Santoso-L is back in Indonesia (Hope he is following our reports. )

Sorry that I could not attend lunch after our session, because I was called away to attend another function.

Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 02-Oct-2011 (A Short Report)

At this CCC CATS, we worked on 'Footwork'.

It is essential that we need to count the transfer of our weights from one foot to another whenever we are training Footwork.

Important points;
* The racket foot should be closest to the net whenever we do a net stroke so that we have the longest reach for the shot.
* After a net stroke, we need to count 1-2 to return to 'Base' correctly to play the return shot.
* The racket foot should be furthest from the net whenever we do a stroke from the 'Back Tram-Lines'. This will make our non-racket shoulder pointing at the net.
* Think of "While moving back to base we do our shots, not to do our shots first and then think of moving back to base".

Some comments;
* KeChong-K and I played the "Half-Court Singles Games" to work on Footwork.
* Only after we have got better at Footwork' we played the normal Singles Games.

Lunch after our session was held at In 2 Noodles, a Malaysian restaurant in South Melbourne.
