Here is a short report for our Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 10-Feb-2013 (on Chinese New Year Day).

It's great that Alexandra-K and Keven-W are back again.

Don't know what happened to Tracy-T and Dominique?: They didn't show.

At this CATS, we went through the topic on Chapter 16 - Level Doubles Match Tactics.

Points to remember;

* It's best staying at your 'front-and-back' position most of the time (because you are getting ready to attack). But to do so, you will need to keep the shuttlecock 'LOW' on your opponents' side of the net all the time. Therefore;
(1) Doing the Low Service is better than the High Service.
(2) Doing the Low Return of Service (to the Fore-Court) is better than doing the Lift (to the Back Tram-Lines).

* If unable to do a good quality Return of Service the Fore-Court, do either the;
(1) Dab (Chapter 7), or the
(2) Pushshot (Chapter 9)
Refer to Post #1.

* If required to hit to the Back Tram-lines, do the Flick instead of the Lift (remembering the demonstration shown - giving less time for the back player to smash).

* Whenever requiring to do the Lift Return of Service (allowing your opponent to smash), you will need to fall back to your 'Square Position'. Which side of the court (left or right) you should choose to return to? You should know it by now.

* When playing a shot to your opponents' Fore-Court, you need;
(1) to make contact with the shuttlecock high (the higher the better - remember the 'time-factor' demonstrated); and
(2) to make your 'Maxima' on your side of the net (remember the higher, can be more acurrate - as demonstrated).

It was rather busy there; Because many people were there for their Chinese New Year lunch.

After lunch, Markus-H, Daisy-L, Mario-P and I went to see what was happening at Melbourne Chinatown. It was a festival, with many different stores there. We saw many different Lion Dances there, and a Dragon Dance.
