Finally, the big guns are unleashed on the third day of competition. It will be another busy day with 69 matches being played (and 3 walkovers). So, here's my pick of the matches:

MS ROUND OF 32 (16 MATCHES)
Lee Chong Wei vs Bjoen Joppien -- a tricky first tie for the top seed, but, he should face no problem.

Andrew Smith vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro -- Smith has improved a lot...but Sony should beat him.

Przemyslaw Wacha vs Kuan Beng Hong -- a potential upset here...but Kuan should win.

Kestusis Navickas vs Taufik Hidayat -- should be a breeze for Taufik compared to today's match against Ng Wei.

Shoji Sato vs Boonsak Ponsana (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- the Thai to win!

    Roman Spitko vs Dicky Palyama

MD ROUND OF 32 (16 MATCHES)
Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto vs Glenn Warfe/Ross Smith -- the Indonesian pair should breeze through the first match.

Chan Chong Ming/Koo Kien Keat vs Hwang Ji Man/Han Sang Hoon -- one of the few intriguing matches in MD tomorrow. The Malaysian pair to win!

Sudket Prapakamol/Patapol Ngernsrisuk vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- the Indonesian pair was not at their best today. They better perform tomorrow! Should be an exciting match!

WS ROUND OF 32 (15 MATCHES)
    Zhang Ning vs Xing Aiying

Wong Mew Choo vs Fransisca Ratnasari (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- it will be a huge achievement if Nana can win tomorrow. Wong has a slight edge!

    Tracey Hallam vs Ella Karachkova

    Kamila Augustyn vs Tine Rasmussen

Li Li vs Petya Nedeltcheva -- the Bulgarian is seeded 5/8, so, a tough match for Li LI. I hope she wins!

WD ROUND OF 16 (8 MATCHES)
Gao Ling/Huang Sui vs Jo Novita/Gresya Polii -- a huge match for the Indonesian no 1 pair. It will be marked as their biggest achievement if they were to beat Gao/Huang.

Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen vs Gail Emms/Donna Kellogg (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- the Chinese pair to win!

Aki Akao/Tomomi Matsuda vs Saralee Thoungthongkam/Sathinee Chankrachangwong -- the Thai pair to win!

Jiang Yanmei/Li Yujia vs Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen -- no question...the Chinese pair to win!

XD ROUND OF 32 (14 MATCHES)
Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir vs Neven Rihtar/Maja Savor -- no problem for the top seed.

Koo Kien Keat/Wong Pei Tty vs Hendra Wijaya/Frances Liu Fan -- the Malaysian pair should win!

Robert Blair/Natalie Munt vs Tsai Chia-Hsin/Cheng Wen-Hsing (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- the English pair has an edge.

Really a tricky tie for LCW but should not be a real problem.

If WMC can play with 80% of her real potential and not only 20% during the first set against Chien Yu Chin. She could win against nana.

Agree with all your predictions, badMania although some matches look a bit dicey.

I hope Thai players can concentrate on their games despite of their home political un-rest. Hopefully everything back in their home will be fine soon.

From the Draw it look possible if Boa beat Chong Wei and Chen Hong beat Peter Gade.

    No CHN MS in sf

Why not try looking at it this way? No CHN MS in semifinals.Hafiz is dangerous when fighting fit.Fitness is his key problem and I believe he has taken steps to weight train weeks ago. He stretched LD to rubber in their last meeting, decider score being 18-21.(correct me if I'm wrong.)

    7 match for INA's shuttlers in Today's schedule :
    - Nova/Lilyana vs Unknown Croatian Pair (03.15pm--JKT time)
    - Luluk/Alven vs Australian pair (04.20pm)
    - Sony vs A.Smith (04.30pm)
    - TH vs Lithuanian Navickas (06.05pm)
    - Nana vs Wong MC (06.40pm)
    - Markis/Hendra vs Sudket/Patapol (08.45pm)
    - Jo/Gres vs Gao/Huang (08.55pm)
It seems only WD can't progress into QF. Almost impossible Jo/Gres making surprise to defeat CHN's top seed. Meanwhile Nana and Wong have same chance 50:50 to win this time, another 5 match should be pass their obstacles to face tougher contenders tomorrow.
