i jump when it feels right, simply that. i know how high i can jump and jump to match the timing of when the shuttle reaches the contact point. you can only learn by trying it and practicing it.

are u suppose to fling ur legs out before u hit the bird? cuz i tried this and i like curled my back and legs then like throw my legs forward and smashed, but that produced very little power, and now i am thinking should i fling my legs first and then smahs.

I time the curling/uncurling with my swing. On the backswing, curl your legs, and fling them out as you swing. Try kicking a ball with your left (or right, if you are left handed) leg. The timing should be the same.

i kicked my legs down just before i smash, its like, the moment my legs are kicked striaght down i start my swing or have contacted the shuttle. it brings some power by bringing your momentum down.

Lam, so where is the shuttle in relation to your feel usually? Anyway, no need to answer. Just to tease you mate. I will have to go to the court to feel what you felt.

lol yeah, trust me, once you've done the perfect jump smash, when your timing is just perfect, you can feel it, and you won't ever forget it.
