Who's smash is the fastest in the 2006 World Championships? Is it still Fu Haifeng? What's the speed?

Taufik did a forehand smash at 309 km/h and a backhand smash at 260 km/h during the game with Chen Hong.

    That is incredible.

but he still lost in a very close 3rd game. I wish he would've won that one.

This would have been impossible as they are from the same bottom half of the draw. One would have to eliminate the other in the semifinal to get to the final.

Taufik can work wonders, its just whether is he concentrating or not, and i remember in previous threads they all mentioned that Taufik's smash from the forehand side is incredible, for his backhand smash, my jaw dropped so I need to get it back on before talking about it

260 backhand smash is just crazy ... but it still wasn't enough in the end.

Fu Haifeng smashed a 324 km/hr in the final. His world record of 332 km/hr i never saw though. who has seen that record smash? any video clip?

in the after match interview, Fu was asked what the secret is for him to smash so hard. His answer was: i am not the strongest man in our team, but i was born with the explosiveness. this is something special that i have.

Ya... I think Fu is just the perfect combination of strength and agility. Shear strength won't give you very powerful smashes.

How do they test the speeds - radar or some high speed camera? I had a good look around the court and couldn't work it out...
