Boonsakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! But he really looks like someone *faint.. Ask him to cut his hair.. he looks so much better with short hair.. Hahaha.. I'm drooling now..
Ngiap and Duu playing doubles... seriously what does this mean..Super exciting!! But let's all shave ngiap's hair.
I think Boonsak's teeth are ok.. why does he need to wear braces. The first time i saw him live in Indonesia Open I was surprised to see the braces in his teeth.. And super shocked at how skinny he was!!

wow, they are all still in uni?
i heard from my thai friends that it's very common in thailand to study for an undergraduate degree, then to do 2 masters or even 2 phd!
is that why sudket is still in uni even though he's 26/27?
they must be really smart to do so many postgraduate courses ... also, doesn't it become expensive or is uni free in thailand for residents.

One thing that impresses me most about our Thai players is that they are able to combine Sports at the highest level with studies at the tertiary (university) level. They may take a little longer to complete their degrees but it really doesn't matter too much. I wish more of our young talented athletes could do likewise. But how many of such similar athletes from Southeast Asia are able to do this?
All too often we hear students and parents bemoaning that sports and studies don't or can't mix. The Thai national badminton players have proven this wrong.
In Singapore, whilst many other athletes seldom make it to the university, whether local or overseas, this is not the case with many of our national swimmers. Somehow, many of Singapore's national swimmers are academically bright as well and many went on to achieve distinction not only in the water but also in the universities. Some even win the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. The CEO of our Singapore Sports Council was a national swimmer who won a sports scholarship from Singapore to study in the US.
Our world-famous swimmer who broke the world short course sprint record and is now one of Singapore's better known coaches, Ang Peng Siong, also won a scholarship to study and train in the US. There are many others including our famous lady swimmer, Jocelin Yeo, who won so many gold medals at Southeast Asian Games.
Maybe our Sports School will ultimately produce many university graduates now that it has laid the groundwork for accreditation with or established close ties/links with some of the world's better sports universities which could provide facilities for the athletes' further training while they continue to study for a first degree.

Actually we should model the Americans since most of the pro players have a degrees.

nah, modelling the yanks is never a good idea!
perhaps the aussies, it's amazing how they excel at so many sports even though their population is similar to malaysia's.

In fact,I remember little Song asking me "Jie jie,the players in Singapore do not need to train and study at the same time like us,why?!"
