Ive seen many matches in this WC that net kills or mishits have reported speeds in excess of 300km/h yet some real "Deadly" straight down the line smashes were only 260km/h or so... I reckon this DEVICE is just a random number generator between 260 - 310km/h. Anybody else in BC thinks the speedometer are BS also? I would elaborate my point further with examples later when I get home.

There could be a chance of this but they wouldn't make speedmeters that doesn't work! :p
BTW, what does BS mean? Thanks! :)

I maybe be wrong, but the top speed you see after each rally, including the ones which ended with a net kill, is the top speed for that rally, not necessarily the last shot ie the net kill.

    just my 2 cents

Thats correct. Its not the final shot, its the fastest shot played in the rally.

it might not be the most accurate, but for sure they are not random numbers.

    Bull....poo....to put it gently;)

as for the speedometer it the same sort of machine tennis-tournaments and cops use...based on radio waves or something...

It's the balance between power and placement I guess. If you are smashing down the line you will probably sacrifice some power to get the placement right.

I wouldn't be surprised if crosscourt smashes or smashes to the body (less likely to go out) were, in general, faster than smashes down the line.

This is all just guesswork on my part though. It would be interesting to see a comparison.

    I'm no expert with 110%smashes...
but generally it's hard to keep the shuttle in on crosssmashes..the angel must be steeper (and risk factor might slow it down a bit)
fully blasted bodysmashes are the hardest I guess
