    Hi Guys,

I'm not a really powerful player but has very decent drops, slices etc.
Would you advise to go for a string that gives power in order to compensate my natural lack of it or should I go for a more ontrol string to really give a lift to my game ?

I guess the alternative to these would be a rather medium string.

Any string you recommend ? I was looking at BG66, 80 or 85

    MAny many thansk
    Dany

Personally, I think 80 might has the better "overall" performance out of the 3, such factors also including durability concern. ;)

Agree. BG80 in white has the most texture/grab. Another alternative is Ashaway PG65 Neon. It has the most grab of any string I've tried.

    String used

    Hi,
I still prefer BG66. This is the most reponsive string and the feel is wonderful although durability is not the best but still manageable.

BG66 is great but for most, the durability is not there. Using BG66 all the time will get expensive, for some. :p

    Hi again,

    Many thx for advice.
Just a little bit confuse though with yonex chart : BG80 suits for hard hitters and BG66 for control player both have same repulsion. Does that make BG66 more suited for my game ?

    Cheers

I think people will agree that except for durability, BG-66 outperforms BG-80. Now the question is - would BG-66 be durable enough for you? The only way to find out is to try it out yourself. Going by your description of yourself as not a powerful player, you'd probably be restringing because of loss of tension instead of breakage.

Also, the thinner the string, the stiffer string bed you will feel, if strung under same amount of tension. ;)

And not forgetting that all-important advantage BG66 gives you - an ear shattering BOOM when you smash :p

I'll stick to BG66 and if it breaks too soon will swap for BG80

I've ordered both sets on badmintonstore

hi since you said you need power i recommend you string your racquet between 20 lbs to 22 lbs. this will help you. as you tend to go higher the less power will be expected but you will have greater control.

    Hi,
Can somebody let me know btw Yonex Bg 68 Ti & BG 66, which one is better for smashing if we don't consider the durability aspect? Which one is better for hard hitter?

    Thank you.

get the thinner one since shuttlecock can have greater bounce.

    Then that should be BG66 (0.66mm), BG68Ti is, I believe, 0.68

am not very familiar with Yonnex strings since am using FLEET BS-66. I find it very durable, thin and affordable.
