I was told that the "ergoshape" sign is just printed on the shoes, then it must be fake. You should be able to feel the sign.

Could somebody please tell me if it is true?

Take the look at the 99's insole, does it have the black plastic reinforcing lattice/grid that is unique to the 99's? (i.e. 90/98 insoles don't have this). I don't know whether the counterfeiters will go so far as to copy the insole as well.

Finally, shouldn't the feel of a fake shoe be quite different from that of the real 99? It should be easy to tell after an hour on court.

I recently bought 1 and like what you said , the tags are in chinese and also it is stated that it is made in china. I thought i bought a fake because i thought high end shoes are only made in Japan.

"High end made in JP" only true for rackets, not the shoes, I believe. ;)

I don't know if this article on spotting fakes 99LE's will be helpful. The pictures might show you some fakers' trademarks. It's in Korean, though.

I think the safest way to purchase an authentic product is to go through the reputable retailers. Yes, their price might not be the lowest, but they give u the guarantee high quality stuff and usually offers good service.

Do you want to save $10 and risk it? And please, the so call "85% off"-brand new-lastest model crap just don't exist.

they might start sewing serial no's into the shoes:p

yea, like Lazybuddy said the best way is to go through a reputible dealer. its worth it if you get a authentic product.

good luck, i hope they're real.
