Why is this thread so quiet ?
I have a few shot of sea gull today (Gary Point Park, Rmd.), and here is one
The 2nd pic is a candid shot at the same place. How do you like it ?

natural light source is always the best light source :-) .... if you can cover up the two big disturbing bright spots at the lower left corner of the pic. that will be a perfect pic. :-))) just my thought.

hehe......those were two cardboard boxes that i put underneath my dvd recorder.
mark, i have a different point of view. that wasn't a set up shot. in photojournalism or snap shots shooting. some sorts of imperfection should be ok. in fact, we should never alter any element inside your frame.
but if we are doing some portrait shots for example. yes, you are absolutely right. we should get everything as perfect as possible.
u got hooked on photography!

very good!

:-) :-) :-) ..... so, sometime it is quite reluctant for me to press the shutter when I see this through the viewfinder. You are right, I got hooked some very long time ago for photo. But have been cool down some very time ago lu.

kwun, that 5d belongs to my company and i've been using it for almost 2 years.
i didn't do anything to enhcance the contrast. but i must say it's indeed different from what i'd seen with my naked eyes on that day.
imo, shooting with a digital camera is somehow very similar to shoot with slides. they can make some situations to become even more dramatic than the real thing. trying is believing
here is another one.
dan, no teasing please!

a nice drum set marky! have u got it tuned?
i like playing drums too! but too bad, my flat isn't big enough. therefore, i only have a snare drum and a practice pad for playing some rudiments.
don't know who is your kid's favourite. for me, i love steve gadd and steve smith. you can buy your kid some of their dvds. those guys are cool!
take a look at mr. hi hat's (steve smith) performance here

and here is the performance of steve gadd playing his famous "crazy army" solo.
